Samurott Pokémon

Last Modified Jul 14, 2021 04:16 GMT

The Unova region is home to some of the most unique Pokemon in the entire series and that’s shown from the very beginning with its starters paving the way. The final water evolution, Samurott, while now similar to Primarina, was a starter Pokemon unlike any other.

Appearance

Samurott Appearance

Samurott is a large sea lion Pokemon covered in golden plated armor and it has long white whiskers on its face that look like a beard.

Behavior

Samurott is a strong battler with it able to use the spikes on its shell, as swords, and it can even stand on its hind legs in order to fight. Sheathed in the shells on its legs are scimitars which it can take out before it’s opponents even have the chance to react.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Samurott is a pure water type so its matchups are easy to remember. It is resistant to fire, water, ice, and steel types and takes half damage from them. It is weak to grass and electric type moves and takes double damage from them.

Shiny Samurott

Shiny Samurott

Shiny Samurott is the rare, recolored version of Samurott. While most of the colors on Shiny Samurott are changed, it is a rather underwhelming shiny. The underbelly of Shiny Samurott is now a dark tan and the shiny version also has darker blue skin as well as orange shell armor rather than yellow.

Best Moveset for Samurott

All out Offensive: Samurott may seem balanced in its stats but in reality, it's incredibly specialized as a special attacker. That makes it ideal for an all out offense tactic with lots of strong special moves that don’t let up against bulky enemies.

Setup Offensive: While it is powerful, it could be even more so. With Swords Dance it can turn from a special attacker to a physical one to sweep especially opponents with high defense .

How to Catch Samurott in Pokemon Go

In Pokemon Go, Samurott evolves from Dewott after 100 Oshawott candy. This means you’ll have to capture a lot of Oshawott and the best way to find them is to look near water or to hatch them from 2 Km eggs.

Trivia

  2. Samurott has a two second long cry, which is the longest of any starter.
  3. Samurott has the same base stat total as the other two Generation 5 starters at 528.

FAQs

Is Samurott a legendary Pokémon?

Samurott is not considered to be a legendary, mythical, or an ultra beast Pokemon.

Is Samurott in Omega Ruby?

Samurott, as well as the other Generation 5 starters, can be obtained in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire using Mystery Gift codes.
