Appearance
Scolipede is a large centipede-like Pokemon and has most of its body is coloured in a dark magenta hue with a gray underbelly. It walks on four legs, but it has been shown to curl into a ball for protection and when it attacks other Pokemon. There are two horns on top of Scolipede’s head as well as at the base of Scolipede and it also has yellow eyes with black pupils. Scolipede is a tall Pokemon at 8 feet and 2 inches, or 2.5 meters, tall.
Behavior
Throughout Scolipede’s appearances in the anime, it is shown to be an aggressive and hostile Pokemon. Only a few trainers in the anime have been shown to have a Scolipede and we see them in the wild more often than we do in a regular battle. The Pokedex mentions its predatory capabilities as it will relentlessly chase after prey and finish them off with its powerful venom.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Scolipede sits near the middle of tier lists of competitive play. Its ability Speed Boost is very powerful in conjunction with certain strategies. It has a decent physical attack stat and a speed stat that only gets better the longer it spends in battle. As a dual type bug and poison Pokemon, Scolipede takes 2x damage from flying, rock, fire, and psychic type moves. Furthermore, it is immune to no types but is resistant against fighting, poison, bug, grass and fairy-type moves.
Shiny Scolipede
Not too much changes between regular Scolipede and Shiny Scolipede but the difference is there for all to see if you look properly. The rings on its husk will change from purple to light blue, while the body changes from a dark magenta to a bright red color. The rest of the colors remain the same and thus if you’re paying attention you ought to recognize a Shiny Scolipede. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Scolipede also gains a starry animation upon entering battle.

Best Moveset
Scolipede’s statline is decent as it has a powerful physical attack along with a good speed stat, but fairly weak defensive stats. You will want to set up your Scolipede as soon as possible with Speed Boost and set up moves in order to forego this defensive weakness. Consider running Swords Dance, Megahorn, Aqua Tail, and Earthquake for an offensive Scolipede. Swords Dance will synergize well with Speed Boost, Megahorn benefits from STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) while also functioning as Scolipede’s main source of damage, and Aqua Tail and Earthquake are used for type coverage options.

How to Catch Scolipede in Pokemon Go
If you would like to obtain a Scolipede in Pokemon Go, the easiest way would be to obtain a Venipede and eventually evolve it into Scolipede. Like most final evolutions, Scolipede will spawn in the wild but it is a much rarer encounter than its base evolution. You will need 25 Venipede candies in order to evolve it into Whirlipede, and another 100 to evolve it into Scolipede. Unfortunately, it does not seem as if Scolipede has appeared as a raid boss in the past and thus you’ll need to collect 125 Venipede candies in order to obtain a Scolipede.
