Scrafty is a dual-type Dark/Fighting Pokémon that was introduced in Generation V and it evolves from Scraggy starting at level 39. He debuted in Meowth's Scrafty Tactics and was kicked out of its den by a wild Mandibuzz, who herself had been forced to relocate. Scrafty begged a wild Beartic, Scolipede, and Darmanitan to help it win back its territory, but none of them helped it. As a result, it resorted to kidnapping Iris's Axew and holding it ransom.

Appearance
Scrafty is a bipedal lizard-like Pokémon that has oval, wide-set eyes with tiny pupils and gray eyelids, short nostrils, and a wide mouth with bared teeth, giving the impression of a continuous scowl. Its head is covered with a red crest that resembles a mohawk while its shoulders are saggy yellow skin that falls halfway down its back. Scrafty has an orange body with slender limbs and a gray-scaled stomach. It has loose yellow skin that looks like baggy trousers covering its lower body and tail. Lastly, a solitary red scale may be found on its tail.
Behavior
Scrafty has the strength to kick through concrete blocks and can spew an acidic substance from its lips to tease opponents. It may defend itself by drawing up or folding the loose skin around its waist while striking. Scrafty lives in packs with other species members and the size of a Scrafty's crest determines the group's hierarchy, as the Scrafty with the biggest will be the leader. It also does not leave its territory for an extended period of time and takes good care of its loved ones and its domain while being harsh at times.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Scrafty is strong against Dark, Psychic, Ghost, and Rock-type moves and weak against Fairy, Fighting, and Flying-type moves.
Best Moveset
Bulk Up | Knock Off |
Drain Punch | Rest |
Due to its unique typing, large mass, and outstanding skills, it makes Scrafty an excellent setup sweeper. Scrafty's unusual typing grants its powerful STAB techniques like Knock Off, High Jump Kick, and Drain Punch, which allows it to deal with common Dark, Ghost, and Psychic types. Scrafty can easily set up on passive Pokemon and form teams that rely on common defensive cores thanks to its large size. However, Scrafty has a low-Speed rating, which makes it easier to revenge kill it.
Bulk Up allows Scrafty to improve its Attack and Defense stats by one level, transforming it into a dangerous setup sweeper. Scrafty's major STAB move is Knock Off, which enables him to weaken opponents by removing their held items while still doing significant damage. Scrafty's secondary STAB move, Drain Punch, provides some recovery while also dealing considerable damage to bulky Stealth Rock users. Scrafty gets an extra type of healing from Rest, and Shed Skin can cure the sleep penalty.
How to catch Scrafty in Pokémon Go?
To get Scraggy in Pokemon GO, players must reach Rank IV in the Battle League and this requires players to complete 15 battles against other players in the Battle League. After reaching rank IV in the Battle League, you’ll then need to win four more battles. If you have a Premium Pass, you’ll only need to win two battles rather than four. At this point, you’ll be guaranteed to encounter Scraggy, giving you the chance to catch it and make it your own. You cannot catch Scraggy in the wild like many other Pokemon in the game. However, this may change in the future following a major update to the game. After catching Scraggy, players will need to feed it 50 candies to evolve it into Scrafty since there is no other way to do so.
