Seadra is a Water type Pokémon introduced in Generation I and it evolves from Horsea starting at level 32, and then into Kingdra when traded while holding a dragon scale. Seadra is known as the ‘Dragon Pokémon’ and it has a 50% chance of spawning as either a male or female. The males, however, care for the young. The final evolution, Kindgra, was introduced later in Generation II.

Appearance
Seadra resembles a blue seahorse. It has a very long snout and has many spikes on the back and side of its head. Its pectoral fins also resemble the spikes on its head. Seadra is mostly light blue with a cream scale-covered stomach and some of the same cream color on the tips of its fins.
Behavior
Seadra is able to swim in any direction if it faces that direction and rapidly flaps its fins and tail. It spins its body to create whirlpools to trap and catch its prey. Seadra will make its nest by wriggling between or going underneath the coral and after females give birth, the males will take care of the young.
Strengths and Weaknesses
As a monotype Water Pokémon, Seadra is weak against Grass and Electric type moves and it will take twice the normal damage from them. It is not immune to any type of Pokémon but is resistant to Steel, Fire, Water and Ice types, which will do half of the normal amount of damage. There is no advantage or disadvantage for Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Psychic, Dragon, Dark, or Fairy types.
Best moveset
Seadra has a lot of strong moves including Skull Bash, which is a move that has 130 power and 100% accuracy. Here are Seadra’s best moves; Skull Bash raises the user's defense by 1 on turn 1 and hits on turn 2. Outrage has 120 power and 100% accuracy lasting 2-3 turns and confuses the user afterwards. Hyper Beam and Giga Impact have 150 power and 90% accuracy, but the user cannot move during the next turn after using either of these movesets.

How to catch Seadra in Pokemon Go?
Seadra can be found in spawn locations such as beaches, streams, ports, reservoirs and wetlands. Being a water type Pokémon, it also means that Seadra’s spawn rate will be boosted by rainy weather. It has a 6% flee rate. You can evolve a Horsea to Seadra at 25 candies, and Seadra to Kingdra with a dragon scale and 100 candies.
Trivia
- Seadra’s Gold and HeartGold Pokédex entries seem to mimic the theory of evolution.
- It is the only member of its evolutionary family to not have the ability “Swift Swim”.
- All known as the “Dragon Pokémon”, Horsea, Seadra, Kingdra, Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Salamence, and Goodra all share a category.
- Seadra’s EV Yield is unique.
- Seadra was the final evolution in Generation I, but in Generation II it was given another evolutionary stage, Kingdra.
FAQs!
How big is Seadra?
Even though Seadra is an evolved Pokemon, it is not very big. It stands at nearly four feet (3’11) and weighs just 55 pounds. Horsea is much smaller at 1’04 and a measly 17.6 pounds while Kingdra, the final evolution, is significantly bigger. It stands 5’11 (a human height!) and weighs 335.1 pounds.
Is Seadra in Pokemon Sword and Shield?
Yes but not in the wild. Instead, Horsea can be caught and evolved. You can find and catch Horsea in the Insular Sea with a 15% chance to appear during Normal Weather weather. It will then evolve to Seadra at level 32, but it can’t be found in the wild.
Is there a shiny Seadra?
Yes, given that Seadra is an older Pokemon, it’s had plenty of time to receive a shiny. The shiny Seadra is darker blue, with red on its belly and on the tips of its fins.
Conclusion
Seadra is a good Pokemon. It was initially the final evolution, so its base stats reflect that, which makes it one of the stronger middle evolution Pokemon. It has access to a solid moveset and can be a stellar member of a Pokemon team.
