Appearance
Shiinotic are based on bioluminescent mushrooms, which are mushrooms that light up in the dark. These Pokemon are found next to such mushrooms in Pokemon Sword and Shield as well. This Pokemon has a gigantic mushroom on its head like a hat. It is purple with a pink border and green dots and is larger than its entire body. It acts like a wearable umbrella to the rest of the Pokemon. The area under the mushroom head is green.
The body of this Pokemon is slender and white. The head looks like a smiley face with entirely black eyes and a smile, which almost looks hollow. It has hands extending out and has three long fingers which are green and used to siphon vitality of others. Waist down, this Pokemon is covered in a pink fluffy substance. It has small feet which are also covered by this substance.
Behavior
The food for this Pokemon is the energy that it siphons off from prey it puts to sleep. Because of this, people are advised to stay away from forests that have Shiinotic in them, especially at night time. They have spores that can put you to sleep and can produce lights that make you lose your way.
They are very territorial when it comes to Parasect. Because of this, it is rare to see them both in the same forest. If you do, stay clear of it even at day time because the forest will be filled with spores that they produced while they were fighting.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Shiinotic is a Grass/Fairy type and because of this, it has a lot of weaknesses and resistances. It is extremely weak to Poison type attacks and takes four times the normal damage because both Fairy and Grass types are weak to it. It is also weak to Fire, Flying, Steel and Ice type moves but takes only twice the normal damage. On the other hand, it is resistant to Water, Grass, Fighting, Dark, Ground and Electric type attacks. Additionally, it is immune to Dragon type moves due to the Fairy typing.
Best moveset
Although it has a good typing which provides STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) for both Moonblast and Giga Drain, Shiinotic is a generally weak Pokemon. It does not have much utility or damage dealing ability, causing it to be comparatively weak. Spore is incredibly useful to deal damage because it helps you go uninterrupted while using Giga Drain to recover health.
However, due to the low speed stat, this Pokemon is almost guaranteed to give a turn to the opponent before casting this move. Usually Spore casters have higher speed for better utility. Finally, Signal Beam is a pretty strong move that is just there for coverage.

Conclusion
Shiinotic are dangerous creatures which can drain you of your life energy if you fall asleep around it. A good night’s sleep will be worse than ever when you wake up. It uses its spores to put enemies to sleep and then attack them. This is how effective Shiinotic is competitively as well. The best way to deal damage with Shiinotic is to drop ‘Spore’ on them and then attack them while they are asleep. However, there are many other Pokemon with better stats who can do that. This Pokemon has a mere 30 speed, which are generally horrible for spore builds since you can’t outspeed the opponent.
