Appearance
Silicobra is based on a snake and is primarily brown in colour. Since it is a Pokemon based on snakes, it has the form of a snake as well, slithering around to travel. It’s entire body is a lighter brown while the edge of its tail and few marks on the body are a darker shade. Its head is the same light brown colour with the exception of its eyelids and nostrils. Its eyelids are also a darker shade of brown along with a circle around its eye. The nostrils on the other hand are entirely black while it has green eyes with black pupils. The pouch on its neck resembles the hood of a cobra and is of the same darker brown as the eyelids and the edge of the tail. There are black quarter moon shaped marks randomly on its pouch.
Behavior
Silicobra lives in dry areas with a lot of sand and dry soil. It burrows down and while doing so, it collects sand, with this sand stored in a pouch on its neck. Despite being a small Pokemon, Silicobra can store upto 8 kilograms or 17 pounds of sand inside the pouch. The Pokemon itself weighs only 7.6 kilograms on an average, which means that the sand it stores could be heavier than itself half of the time. The sand is not stored unnecessarily or used as food but rather as a weapon. If it is confronted, it sprays the sand on the enemy and immediately digs while the opponent is blinded. It uses this opportunity to refill the sand pouch as well.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Silicobra is a pure Ground type Pokemon and thus has basic weaknesses and resistances. It takes double the normal damage from Water, Grass and Ice type moves. On the other hand, it is resistant to Poison and Rock type moves, and thus takes half the normal damage while Silicobra is also immune to Electric types. All other moves deal a normal amount of damage.
Best moveset
With the help of Sand Veil, Silicobra can be a damage dealer who depends way too much on gimmicks. However, it is outclassed by other Sandstorm based Pokemon like Larvitar, who also receives a Special Defense boost from Sandstorm. This moveset does not work unless you have another Pokemon to help set up Sandstorm while holding Smooth Rock for you. Immediately after switching in, start spamming Double Team for three turns. This will maximize your evasiveness which means you can use this opportunity to start using Coil, which will increase your Attack, Defense and Accuracy by one stage. After you are satisfied with the stat boosts, start using Earthquake or Dragon Rush to damage the enemy.
Earthquake can be replaced by Drill Run if you want to try your hand at Critical Hit gambling. Dragon Rush has the downside of low accuracy, which can be fixed using Coil. It also gives priority, which is almost always nice to have. This move can be replaced by Dragon Scales, which increases Speed and decreases Defense, which will not be a problem due to the high base Defense along with the boost from Coil.

FAQs
What is Silicobra?
Silicobra is a Ground type Pokemon based on a cobra.
What number is Silicobra?
Silicobra is #843 on the National Dex.
How do you get a Silicobra?
Silicobra can be found in Route 6 in the base game. It can be caught at Forest of Focus, Training Lowlands, Challenge Road, Potbottom Desert in the DLC. Alternatively, you can breed a Sandaconda with another Sandaconda, Silicobra or a Ditto to obtain a Silicobra egg.
Conclusion
Silicobra lies patiently in the sand while waiting for prey to arrive so that it can attack them when they appear. It digs down to hide when an opponent attacks it to escape from opponents by spitting sand in their face. This cowardice is translated competitively as well, making this Pokemon generally weak and relying heavily on gimmicks. However, with a complete set-up, this Pokemon can be incredibly good in LC. This is not recommended because other Pokemon can do much better with much less set-up, making it a painful experience having to stall using non-attacking moves for several turns.
