Silvally is the evolution of one of the most enigmatic Pokemon that appears in Sun and Moon and maybe even the entire series. It evolves from the chimeric Pokemon Type: Null, the iconic ace of the rival character Gladion. While Silvally is a normal type, it has an entire gimmick based around changing its type based on special items it holds.

Appearance
Silvally is a cyborg Pokemon with traits from all sorts of different creatures. It has a strangely mammal-like head but with a white mane and feathery crest that makes it look like a bird. Its lower body is mostly black but its forearms seem to be that of an insect while its back legs seem to fit its mammalian head but with dark purple scales scattered on them. Its tail is largely blue and clearly the fin of an aquatic animal.
Behavior
Silvally looks very similar to its pre-evolution because it doesn’t really evolve. When Type: Null trusts its trainer an immense amount, it gains the strength and courage to break its control mask and become a real Pokemon rather than just a body controlled by a machine. This destruction of its controller also unlocks its innate type changing ability by holding items called memories.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Silvally can become any type in the game through its memory mechanic, which means that its weaknesses and resistances change depending on the type. However due to it only ever being a single type rather than a dual type Pokemon, the matchups are as simple as possible.

Best Movesets for Silvally
Offensive: Silvally, despite having the choice of a lot of different types, has a centralized use in battle. Its well rounded stats makes it ideal for stat boosting and moves with the Same Type Attack Bonus. This bonus is much easier to attain due to the ability to change types. So depending on what type is being used, different powerful STAB moves are used in its stock moveset. However the easiest choice for this method is the move Multi-Attack, a move which changes depending on the type of Silvally.

How to Catch Silvally in Pokemon Go
Silvally is not yet obtainable in Pokemon Go but when it is added, the legendary Pokemon will likely have unique methods of obtaining it. While it and its pre-evolution Type: Null may appear as raid bosses, it's more likely Type: Null will have a unique method to obtain it and Silvally will likely evolve from it similarly to how the friendship based Eeveelutions work.

Conclusion
Silvally is a Pokemon which people may find hard to use and hard to obtain. Friendship evolving Pokemon take a lot of effort and Silvally’s playstyle requires a lot of pre-planning for it to be used effectively. Though its story does translate to gameplay if you put enough effort and care into your Type: Null, not only will it evolve into Silvally, it will turn it into a reliable partner.
