Stunfisk Appearance

Stunfisk is a small flat Pokemon that resembles a fish out of water, or even a manta ray. Its body is a dark shade of red with its face facing upwards and it has black markings adorning the sides of its body and across its fins. Lastly, yellow markings are on its tail and the back of its body, which resembles an exclamation mark when viewed at the right angle.

Behavior

Stunfisk feels most at home around muddy areas, especially mud flats. Thanks to its durable skin, Stunfisk feels nothing when someone accidentally steps on them and not even a sumo wrestler stepping on it can bother this Pokemon. When channeling electricity, Stunfisk are known to smile; the reason for this is still unknown.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The biggest strength that Stunfisk has is in its defense. With high marks on both normal and special defense, combined with a sizable health pool, it makes this Pokemon able to withstand plenty of attacks. However, what it has in spades for Defense it lacks in offense. While it has alright stats, the speed of this Pokemon is abysmal, almost never making the first move when a turn begins. It is weak against Grass, Ice, Water or Ground type moves but is resistant to Flying, Poison, Rock and Steel types and immune to Electric type moves.

Galarian Stunfisk

Galarian Stunfisk

In the Galar region, Stunfisk has a different Variation, Galarian Stunfisk. A Galarian Stunfisk is a completely different type of typing than its original predecessor. While Stunfisk was a Ground Electric type, Galarian Stunfisk is an Electric/Steel type. This change allows Galarian Stunfisk to have several new strategies that allow it to change up the game.

In terms of strengths and weaknesses, due to the new typing, an Alolan Stunfisk is resistant against Flying, Water, Fairy, Ice, and Rock types. However, it is weak against moves from Ground, Fighting, and Fire types and thus can be quickly taken out of battle by said moves.

Shiny Stunfisk

Shiny Stunfisk

With it hard to locate in the wild, finding a Shiny Stunfisk is tricky as it is tough to track down. The main difference between a normal and Shiny Stunfisk is subtle, as Shiny Stunfisk’s main color is now a light brown, and its tail markings are a light blue. To get a Shiny Stunfisk of your own, you’ll have to find one in the wild or hatch one from an egg although you could always find someone willing to trade one. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Stunfisk gains a starry animation upon entering battle.

How to catch Stunfisk in Pokemon Go?

Stunfisk is an easy Pokemon to catch in Pokemon Go. All you need to do is walk for a while, and one should appear relatively close by. As it’s a weaker Pokemon, you won’t have to worry about berries or using Great or Ultra balls. A well tossed Pokeball should do the trick in catching Stunfisk.
