Togetic Pokémon

Last Modified Jul 26, 2021 09:16 GMT

Togetic is a Fairy/Flying dual-type Pokémon that debuted in Generation II but it was a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon before Generation VI arrived. It evolves from Togepi when leveled up, with high friendship, and evolves into Togekiss when exposed to a Shiny Stone. In A Togepi Mirage, Misty's Togepi evolved into a Togetic and Misty leaves it in the Mirage Kingdom, as Togetic wanted to stay behind and become its protector.

Appearance

Togetic

Togetic is a tiny, two-legged bipedal Pokémon with a dainty appearance. It has a white body with a red and blue triangle ring design all over its body. Not only that, it has a lengthy neck and legs, as well as a pair of wings on its back that make it look like an angel.

Behavior

Togetic can feel other people's and Pokémon's kindness and thus it prefers to go to pure-hearted individuals and shower them with happiness and a sparkling substance called "joy dust" whenever it sees them. It is claimed that Togetic flies throughout the world in search of these people to share its joy. However, if it is not surrounded by friendly people, it becomes depressed and loses vitality. Togetic is uncommon in the wild but it can occasionally be seen dwelling in the woods.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Togetic is weak against Poison, Rock, Steel, Electric and Ice-type moves. It is, however, immune to Ground and Dragon-type moves and is resistant against Fighting, Bug, Grass, and Dark-type moves.

Best Moveset

Togetic acts as a physical barrier and entry hazard remover. It may be used on a variety of team archetypes because of its ability to squeeze out threats. However, as bulky as Togetic may be, it is also fairly passive and therefore works better on defensive builds like balance and bulky offense.

Togetic's main asset is Defog, which allows it to prevent its teammates from being crippled by entrance hazards. Roost can also be used to recover lost health from entry hazards like Stealth Rock or chip damage from opposing threats. Fighting-, Dark-, and Dragon-types are targeted with Dazzling Gleam, which prevents the former two from using Knock Off and the latter from setting up. Togetic may use Toxic to cripple walls that may take advantage of Togetic's passiveness.

How to Togetic catch in Pokémon Go?

Togetic is a Fairy, Flying-type Pokémon from the Johto region and evolves from Togepi after being fed 25 candies and evolves into Togekiss when fed 100 candies and given a Sinnoh Stone. It, however, does not currently appear in the wild in Pokemon GO and therefore can only be obtained by hatching an egg or accepting it during a trade from another trainer. After acquiring Togepi, you need to feed it 25 candies to obtain Togetic.

Trivia

  1. No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Togetic and its evolved form.
  2. Togetic, and its evolved form, are the only Pokémon that are in the Flying and Fairy Egg Groups.
  3. Togetic shares its category name with Blissey as they’re both known as the Happiness Pokémon.
  4. Togetic is tied with Vespiquen for the lowest base Speed stat of all Flying-type Pokémon. Among all Pokémon to be the slowest of their respective types, Togetic (and Vespiquen) are the fastest.
