Max Battles were added to Pokemon GO as a part of the game's Max Out season in September 2024. These new raid-esque battles put players against Dynamax Pokemon, which could then be captured and used in future Max Battles.

However, not many users thought highly of the new fights as the feature heavily restricted participants to only using other Dynamax Pokemon, with the roster of eligible creatures being incredibly small at first. Nonetheless, these Max Battles still provide users with a new form of content.
