Totodile is one of the three Pokemon starters available in Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Totodile is the water-type starter and is shown in its introduction to be playful, though at times accidentally aggressive. Totodile evolves into Croconaw at level 18 and evolves into Feraligatr at level 30. Totodile was based around a baby crocodile, with some traits similar to that of an American alligator. The strong bite of these inspirations is carried over into Totodile in its playful roughness which is known to make it quite dangerous, even if it is not intentionally aggressive.

Appearance
Totodile is a teal Pokemon which resembles a baby crocodile with well-developed jaws. Totodile has red eyes with ridges above them and dark blue markings below its eyes at each end. Totodile has small red ridges which go down its spine on either side, a trait similar to crocodilian armor. The tip of its triangular tail has a single spine protrusion as well. Tototodile has yellow V-shaped marking that extends to its arms, with a thin black line dividing it in half. Totodile has short legs and stubby arms, with five fingers and three toes respectively.
Behavior
Totodile is a remarkably playful Pokemon, though it has a habit of biting anything in sight, even if that anything is its own trainer. This is a problem mainly because its jaws are capable of crushing nearly anything. Totodile live around relatively small bodies of water like rivers, ponds, and lakes, though Totodile is rarely found living in the wild.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Totodile has a high attack and defense stat, though the rest of its stats are average, with its speed being pretty low. As a water-type, Totodile is weak to grass and electric-types and is resistant to steel, fire, water, and ice-types.
Best moveset
Totodile has two possible abilities, with both working to raise its attack. Sheer Force is an ability which causes attacks with secondary effects to have 1.3x the power, though these secondary effects are nullified. Totodile’s other possible ability is Torrent, which allows its attacking stat with water attacks to be 1.5x when Totodile is at ⅓ of its health or lower. Of these two abilities, Sheer Force is more useful, but both can serve to make Totodile an effective, offensive based Pokemon. First off, Dragon Dance raises Totodile’s attack in order to allow it to either one-hit or two-hit most opponents with its main STAB (same-type attack bonus) move, Waterful. Ice Punch mainly serves as type coverage, giving Totodile a reliable way to hit bulky Grass-types. Finally, Aqua Jet is a move which makes Totodile more likely to go first, and thus more able to take out troublesome Pokemon that have experienced some damage as a late-game sweeper.

How to catch Totodile in Pokemon Go?
As a water-type Pokemon, Totodile is able to be found near canals, lakes, beaches, rivers, wetlands, and basins, with rain increasing this likelihood as well.
