Grass type starters are often the least popular of the three. And while this is true for Treecko, especially due to its design, its evolutions often make people think twice about the potential of this little grass type lizard.

Appearance
Treecko is a small gecko-like Pokemon with scales colored in different shades of green as well as a red jaw and underbelly. Treecko’s tail is like two large, dark-green bulbs and on each are two lobes which are used to sense humidity.
Behavior
Treecko is a calm but hard headed Pokemon. Most Treecko are wild and in this wild state, they are very defiant. When faced with hardship or fear, Treecko stare it in the face and walk forward, no matter how stupid of an idea that may be at times.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Treecko is a pure grass type so its type matchups are pretty easy to remember. It is strong against ground, water, grass, and electric type moves and takes half damage from them. It is weak to flying, poison, bug, fire, and ice type moves and takes double damage from them.
Shiny Treecko
Shiny Treecko is the rare, recolored version of Treecko. Shiny Treecko has lots of subtle changes to its colors. For example, most of what used to be green is now a teal color on Shiny Treecko. Shiny Treecko also has a pale underbelly and red tail, rather than a red underbelly and dark green tail.
Best Moveset for Treecko
Bulky Offensive: Treecko may not be the strongest but its high base speed means it can focus on boosting other stats while still maintaining speed control over its opponent. This means pairing it with Swords Dance and a few good physical moves can turn Treecko into a powerful opponent.
Swords Dance | Drain Punch |
Bullet Seed | Acrobatics/Rock Slide |
How to Catch Treecko in Pokemon Go
