Appearance
Vanillish is very striking thanks to its resemblance to an ice cream cone. It has a large, white, rounded upper body with a swirled substance on top and has dark blue eyes with small ice crystals at the sides. Two ice crystals peek out below its dark blue mouth and it has stubby limbs that resemble icicles. Vanillish’s lower body, on the other hand, resembles a large icicle.
Behavior
Vanillish lives in snowy mountainous areas and it creates ice inside its body by drinking water and then expels it to hide or freeze opponents. It can also use this water to repair itself should any parts of its body be knocked off. Not only that, it can shatter frozen opponents with powerful headbutts. Vanillish are often smaller in warmer regions, with a tendency to be slightly deformed.
Strengths and Weaknesses
With its ability in Weak Armor, Vanillish becomes faster with each hit it takes at the cost of its Defense stat. It has access to strong STAB offensive moves like Ice Beam and it’s typing means that it is powerful against Grass, Ground, Dragon, and Flying types for super effective damage. Unfortunately, It is rather sluggish, and with a poor defensive typing in Ice, it is vulnerable to Fire, Fighting and Rock type moves. Not only that, it is not resistant to any type outside Ice type moves, which deals only half the normal damage.
Best moveset
This set allows Vanillish to minimize potential damage with Substitute while being paired with a strong STAB option in Ice Beam. an answer into potential threats with HP fighting, and a last resort high damage option with Explosion in order to put out immense damage at the cost of its own life. This set is particularly vulnerable against Pokemon with priority moves, so be wary of this

Conclusion
As a mid stage evolution, Vanillish is rather middle of the pack. It does have its uses as an offensive attacker but it is somewhat limited by its poor moveset and underwhelming stats. This isn’t a reason to be discouraged however, as its final stage in Vanilluxe brings a large amount of use in its power ability in Snow Warning, allowing it to function as a setter for teams. Try your best to push for that final stage ASAP!
