Appearance
Wailord is a huge Pokémon that looks like a blue whale with small beady eyes, a large mouth, and grooves along its throat. It has a blue back with four white spots, a brown underbelly with grooves with two sets of fins on each side of its body and a horizontal tail at the back.
Behavior
Because of its size, it produces a huge splash when it jumps out of the water and by breaching and smashing into the sea, it may send shockwaves through the water, knocking out the opponents. In one breath, it can dive to a depth of 3,000 meters and dwells in huge groups called pods in the water. A pod of Wailord moves together in search of food and may consume enormous amounts of food at once. However, when a Wailmer is assaulted by one of its predators, the entire pod comes to its aid. Wailord is well-known for its enormous size and thus as a result, Wailord-watching is a popular tourist attraction in many regions of the Pokemon world. However, they are known to be driven away by fishermen, so they don't eat too many fish Pokémon.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Wailord is a Water-type Pokemon, which means that it is weak against Grass and Electric types only but in contrast, it is resistant against Steel, Fire, Water, and Ice-type moves. Wailord finds its only niche in the metagame by PP stalling the foe but is otherwise outclassed by other Water-type Pokemon that have better offensive utility. Wailord may possess a colossal HP stat, but this is offset by its meager defenses as it often finds itself unable to switch in well against a lot of strong wall breakers.
Best Moveset
Substitute allows Wailord to block status and scout switch-ins while letting it also PP stall moves. Aqua Ring gives Wailord recovery that can be utilized with Protect and Substitute. Protect gives Wailord a chance at a free turn, which can also be used to scout a foe's moves while Scald deals damage to a foe and can also burn it.

However, while Wailord is huge, it has just moderately good stats and Aside from its lots of HP, there's nothing to write home about. It has decent attack stats, horrid defenses, and bad speed which is funny because Wailord’s HP is among the highest in the games but its defenses are terrible and thus balances things out.
