What if Lucario had a Base Stat Total (BST) of 600 instead of 525, and fans considered it a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon? How effective would it be in mainline and mobile games? Many pseudo-Legendary Pokemon share Dragon-type as one of their typings. So, what happens when its type is changed to the Dragon?
Fans of the anime have seen Lucario fight against Articuno, Regice, Regirock, Dragapult, and Mewtwo. It displayed excellent combat capabilities against them but couldn’t secure victories. That being said, here is what we would get if Lucario were a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon.
What would Lucario require to be a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon?

Unlike other pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, Lucario boasts a two-stage evolution process, where it evolves from Railou. It does not have a three-stage evolution like Dragonite and Garchomp. However, it can evolve into Mega Lucario, a unique form with incredible offensive and defensive prowess. Moreover, it has a BST of 625, which is higher than the required BST to join the 600 Club.
The 600 Club has powerful Pokemon, and Lucario must have the eligible BST to be a club member. So, one would need to increase the overall BST by +75. This automatically gives the pseudo-Legendary Pokemon a worthy adversary for PvE and PvE.
The Aura Pokemon is an excellent attacker with remarkable speed. But, it is slightly less reliable as a defender. Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon possess great stat distribution, so Lucario would also need a well-balanced stat. Here are the actual BST and an assumed BST of the monster.
Stat spread of Lucario as a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon
When Lucario is a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, its Physical and Special stats should undergo a modification, making the critter even more powerful.
Assumed BST of Lucario as a pseudo-Legendary:
- Hit Point (HP): 80
- Attack: 131
- Defense: 78
- Special Attack: 131
- Special Defense: 75
- Speed: 105
BST of Lucario in Pokemon games:
- Hit Point (HP): 70
- Attack: 110
- Defense: 70
- Special Attack: 115
- Special Defense: 70
- Speed: 90
Should Lucario need a new type as a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon?
Honestly, a pseudo-Legendary Lucario would still be a better entity without any change in its typing. Its dual Steel and Fighting-type is a nice type combination, aiding it to face opponents in different battle scenarios. Steel offers resistance against a wide variety of moves, and Fighting provides dominance against Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, and Dark-type Pokemon.
Comparatively, Dragon-type species are more robust and reliable than Fighting-type monsters. However, in the case of pseudo-Lucario, it has more resistance, and thanks to that, a trainer should be fine with enduring attacks.
Therefore, if Lucario becomes a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, it would be one of the strongest in games like Pokemon GO, Scarlet and Violet, and many more.
