A specific geographical location where certain individual species of Pokemon spawn at a higher frequency is known as a Pokemon GO nest. A large number of different or specific species spawn over time at distinct rates in different parts of the globe. Nests usually have one or two species that keep changing every 2 weeks with the possibility of changing into a normal spawn point or a PokeStop.

With the world mapped in Pokemon GO, random locations are selected as spawn points where a particular type of Pocket Monster appears repeatedly. Although they are known as Pokemon GO Nests and are said to be random, many players believe that they usually appear near PokeStops and Gyms or in local parks. If you want to capture or power up a certain Pokemon, the best option is to find their nests.

Pokemon GO nests and their advantages

Alongside the concept of nests in Pokemon GO, there is also something called migration in the game, meaning that Pokemon from one nest migrate into another one. With Pokemon GO nests having a specific spawn for only two weeks, the Pokemon inside the nest will migrate after that time period so that other species can take over the nest. This generally happens every alternate Thursday, unless the migration is forced.

Although they are common, not every Pokemon spawns in these nests. Most unevolved Pokemon can be found in nests, but the 10 KM Egg hatchlings and regional exclusives, along with a few other special species will never nest. Some common Pocket Monsters that spawn in Pokemon GO nests are Chikorita, Chinchou, Cyndaquil, Bulbasaur, Bellsprout, Caterpie, Aipom, and others.

Nests can prove to be rather advantageous for competent players since there are several benefits that come from finding them. Although locating a nest can be a difficult task since there is no list available for their coordinates in-game, some players use third-party tools to locate them.

Unfortunately, using third-party tools is not condoned by Niantic and The Pokemon Company. Therefore, fans should refrain from using such tools and avoid getting their IDs banned by the game's developers.

In a situation where you might need to capture a specific type of Pokemon for a Field Research Task, finding them randomly in the wild can be difficult, but it would benefit you greatly if you know the location of the nests for that particular Pokemon.

For shiny collectors, spawn points are a hassle to detect, but a nest is basically the same thing. It becomes easy to find a shiny variant if you have multiple spawns coming out around your character. Furthermore, certain Field Research Tasks ask you to capture a certain fighter that may have a low spawn rate, but looking out for that specific Pokemon's nest is faster than simply trying to find it in the open.

Finding a specific type of Pokemon in abundance is always useful, as they can help you win medals such as Hiker or Fairy Tale Girl. Catching individual monsters multiple times offers candy for evolving or powering up that same Pokemon. While there are several advantages to Pokemon GO Nests, some might work for you, and some advantages might only be of help to others.
