When is Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma arriving in Pokemon GO?

A news update on Pokemon GO's official website has finally clued fans in on when the new forms of the Legendary Pokemon, Necrozma, will be coming to the mobile title. While many players initially suspected that these variants would be handled as seperate entities, Niantic has seemingly gone above and beyond to make the process of obtaining them as accurate to the main series as possible.

Of course, since Necrozma is not yet in the game, trainers still have a bit of a wait before they can get their hands on these upgraded versions of the creature. Thankfully, they will be available the second base Necrozma debuts during Pokemon GO Fest 2024.

When is Dusk Mane Necrozma coming to Pokemon GO?

Dusk Mane Necrozma will be available when Necrozma debuts during Pokemon GO Fest 2024's in-person events. This means that it will be available as early as May 30, 2024, for those who participate in the Sendai, Japan GO Fest event. However, it cannot be captured. Instead, players will have to fuse Necrozma and Solgaleo together to obtain this form.

Thanks to a new feature being introduced alongside Necrozma, trainers can now fuse the Pocket Monster with Solgaleo using Solar Fusion Energy.

Solar Fusion Energy can be obtained by defeating Necrozma in Raid Battles. After collecting the required amount, players can go into Necrozma's menu in the collection and fuse it with a Solgaleo.

Dusk Mane Necrozma is a Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon (Necrozma's base form possesses the standard Psychic typing). This is a typing shared with Metagross, one of the best creatures in the game.

The GO Fest wave of events will also bring Sunsteel Strike, Solgaleo's signature move, to Dusk Mane's movepool.

When is Dawn Wings Necrozma coming to Pokemon GO?

Dawn Wings Necrozma can be acquired using the Fusion Energy collected from its respective Raid Boss and fusing together a Lunala and a standard Necrozma.

Much like Dusk Mane, Dawn Wings will also gain access to Moongeist Beam upon fusing. This variant is also a Psychic and Ghost-type Pokemon, meaning it will receive the Same-Type Attack Boost when using this move.

Dawn Wings will officially be in Pokemon GO on May 30, 2024, as this is when the first in-person GO Fest event begins. However, it will be available for worldwide audiences at a later date following the release of the Global GO Fest.

There is one important thing to remember about the new Fusion mechanic. Necrozma will not separate from the other Legendary until the trainer commands it to. This means players can permanently keep Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings, unlike Primal Reversion and Mega Evolution, which is only temporary.
