While many players are having fun with Pokemon GO's Halloween festivities, some players may be wondering what Niantic has planned next for the popular mobile game. The future may be uncertain, but there is word of a new Dynamax Pokemon making its way to live servers — the Ground and Steel-type from the Unova region, Excadrill.
In a recent announcement on the official Pokemon GO website, Niantic revealed a new weekly event: Max Mondays. These events will bring certain types of Raid Bosses to Max Battles for a specific amount of time. In this announcement, it was revealed that Dynamax Drilbur will be coming to the title on November 18, 2024.

Everything to know about Dynamax Drilbur in Pokemon GO
Dynamax Drilbur will be a One-Star Max Raid Boss players can encounter in Pokemon GO on November 18th. Additionally, lucky players can find its shiny variant from the post-battle encounter, but it does not have an increased chance of appearing as such. With enough candies, players can evolve their Dynamax Drilbur into an Excadrill, which is capable of Dynamaxing.
Unlike its evolution, Drilbur does not possess a secondary Steel typing, making it a pure Ground-type. Vensaur, Blastoise, Inteleon, and Rillaboom are all great counters for this fight and should have no problem taking Driblur down solo. This will also make Drilbur the first Ground-type Dynamax Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
Since Drilbur Max Battles will appear more frequently from 6 PM to 7 PM on November 18, 2024, players with multiple Max Spots near them can easily grind out these fights to find one with optimal IVs. Completing multiple Drilbur raids will also yield more candies, which are required to evolve it into Excadrill.

Will Dynamax Excadrill be good in Pokemon GO?
Dynamax Excadrill's arrival in Pokemon GO may have something to do with the Wild Area global event that will be hosted a few days after its arrival. Being a Ground and Steel-type Pokemon, Excadrill is the perfect counter for Dynamax and Gigantamax Toxtricity, the two main bosses for the upcoming event.
Not only will Dynamax Excadrill be good for these raids, but its typing and great stat distribution will likely make it one of the best Ground-type Dynamax Pokemon in the game for many months to come. The creature on its own can take down many standard Raid Bosses when given an advantageous match-up, and this winning streak would likely continue in Dynamax Raids as well.
This will make it a valuable asset for players interested in Pokemon GO's raiding content; especially with Niantic focusing their attention on providing more Dynamax and Gigantamax content in the current season. The following Wild Area event will give it the best chance to shine, as Toxtricity takes massive damage from Ground-type attacks.
