Niantic has revealed the debut date for the Dynamax forms of the Galarian Starters in Pokemon GO. These variants of the iconic creatures were teased during the Max Out season's initial trailer, but they were not seen at the event's debut, despite the special research rewarding players with one of the Pocket Monsters.
Thankfully, Niantic has confirmed that the Dynamax forms of the Galarian Starters will be available in the game starting on October 1, 2024. They will be coming to the game as part of a mini-event to celebrate the start of the new month.

The Dynamax Galarian Starters in Pokemon GO will be made available through Max Battles that will start taking place on October 1, 2024. These fights will have a One-Star difficulty rating. This means they should not be too much of a challenge for players who already have fully evolved forms of the Dynamax Kanto Starters distributed during the beginning of the Max Out season.

However, the Dynamax Galarian Starters will be missing their shiny variants. Niantic is likely saving them for the eventual Community Days that the creatures will have. These Community Days will likely grant the critters access to Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant, or Blast Burn (depending on the species), allowing them to compete for viability with the other Starter Pokemon already in the game.
Since these Pocket Monsters will have access to their Dynamax forms, they are most likely intended to be used in Max Battles rather than competitive play. These forms will use their own unique moves regardless of what the creature has prior to Dynamaxing. This means the event-exclusive moves they lack hold very little relevance.
Are the Dynamax Galarian Starters worth it in Pokemon GO?
The reveal of the Galarian Starters' Dynamax forms is disappointing to some players. This is due to the creatures' final evolutions each possessing their own Gigantamax forms in the main series.

Gigantamaxing is not available in Pokemon GO as of writing. This means players may need to grind these Max Battles again just to gain access to the much-better Gigantamax forms of these starters.
The Dynamax Kanto Starters are also better in terms of their offensive utility. With each of the Kanto Starters possessing a secondary type, they have much more coverage, allowing them to take on more Max Battles safely compared to the Galar trio.
With this in mind, it would save players a lot of time to just wait for the Gigantamax forms to debut in the mobile title. There is a good chance that Niantic will choose the Galar trio to showcase the new forms with, so the wait for these better forms may not be far away.
