Mudbray and Mudsdale are set to debut in Pokemon GO soon. The two were some of the first Pocket Monsters from the Alola region to be shown to the public, and Mudsdale even had great significance in its debut generation, being a Ride Pokemon, as well as the ace of one of the Alola region's Kahunas.

The first Pokemon GO City Safari events for 2025 have been announced, bringing exciting news about these new creatures. Mudbray and Mudsdale will be part of all City Safari events, which run from March 29, 2025, to March 30, 2025.

Mudbray will be one of the wild encounters for players who purchase a ticket for and attend the Pokemon City Safari events. However, it will be limited to specific cities, making it inaccessible for many players.

There has been little word about this new creature, which is concerning given how Niantic handled Skiddo, another regional Ride Pokemon only available during City Safari events.

Hopefully, Niantic does not restrict another Pocket Monster behind a paywall.

Will Mudsdale be good in Pokemon GO?

Mudsdale, a pure Ground-type like its pre-evolved form Mudbray, has high stamina and attack stats, making it a strong contender in Pokemon GO's Ultra League. It can counter Steel-type foes like Registeel, Cobalion, and Steelix with its super-effective Earthquake. It can also handle Poison-type creatures like Drapion and Weezing, depending on its moveset, which Niantic has yet to confirm.

While it would be safe to assume that Ground-type attacks like Mud-Slap and Earthquake will be included, its coverage options are unconfirmed.

Will Shiny Mudbray and Mudsdale be available in Pokemon GO?

For those able to attend the City Safari events, Niantic has confirmed that a shiny variant of Mudbray will be available as a potential wild encounter. This means Shiny Mudsdale will also be available in the game from its initial debut.
