When is shiny Jangmo-o coming to Pokemon GO?

Pokemon GO introduced Jangmo-o in March 2022 with the Welcome to Alola event. However, the Alolan Dragon-type creature and its evolutions, Hakamo-o and Kommo-o, didn't arrive with their shiny variants available. When will shiny Jangmo-o arrive in the game, so trainers can finally add it to their collection? The answer is during GO Fest 2024 global or a particular early access event.

Specifically, if trainers have already purchased their Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global ticket, they'll be able to hatch Jangmo-o from 7km eggs during the Early Access Eggs-travaganza taking place from July 8, 2024, at 10:00 am local time to July 14, 2024, at 11:59 pm local time.

How to find shiny Jangmo-o during Pokemon GO Fest 2024 and the Early Access Eggs-travaganza

If trainers want to snag a shiny Jangmo-o in Pokemon GO, their first opportunity to do so will be during the Early Access Eggs-travaganaza.

During the event, 7km eggs will hatch featured Pocket Monsters that will later appear during GO Fest 2024: Global with an added boost to their shiny appearance rates. Jangmo-o is included in the list of featured hatches.

However, to take part in the Eggs-travaganza, trainers will need to have secured their Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global ticket and have it in their inventory during July 8-14. Without the ticket, players will have to wait until the event takes place on July 13-14, 2024, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm local time for their chance to hatch shiny Jangmo-o from 7km eggs obtained from gifts sent by friends.

In addition to boosted shiny rates for Jangmo-o and other 7km egg hatches, the Eggs-travaganaza also offers halved hatch distance for eggs placed in an incubator during the event. It also allows players to open up to 40 gifts per day so that they can stockpile and hatch tons of 7km eggs. With these benefits, hatching at least one shiny Jangmo-o should be a simple process.

In addition to hatching from 7km eggs, trainers who wait until Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global to hunt for shiny Jangmo-o will have additional opportunities to find it. Wild Jangmo-o will appear on Saturday, July 13, during the Shining Day Habitat hours of 11:00 am to 12:00 pm local time and from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm local time. It will also appear throughout event hours on Sunday, July 14.

Moreover, according to Niantic, Jangmo-o will appear throughout Tier-1 raids during GO Fest 2024: Global. This gives trainers even more opportunities to catch its shiny form, especially if they combine raiding, hatching 7km eggs, and searching for it in the wild during its outlined timeframes.

Niantic will likely allow shiny Jangmo-o to be caught via other methods after the Eggs-travaganza and GO Fest 2024: Global in the future. However, trainers' first opportunities to find it will rest with these two events.
