As Pokemon GO's Max Out draws to a close, some exciting reveals have been announced for the upcoming season, Dual Destiny. One of the first new additions players will see is Sinistea and its evolution, Polteageist, which will arrive on December 3, 2024. Naturally, many trainers want to know more about these Pocket Monsters.

Given their performance in the main series during their peak usage, it is unclear how they will fare in the mobile game's competitive scene. Nonetheless, these creatures have a lot to offer.

Sinistea will become available in Pokemon GO on December 3, 2024, as part of the Just My Cup of Tea event. According to the game's website, the creature will be a One-Star Raid Boss and a reward for completing the event's collection challenge. This task will likely involve finding all the other wild spawns the event offers.

To obtain Polteageist, players will need to collect 50 Sinistea candies. This might require considerable effort, as Sinistea cannot be farmed like other wild spawns during Just My Cup of Tea. Fortunately, trainers can register Sinistea as their Buddy Pokemon to passively gain candies as they walk.

Sinistea and Polteageist's shiny forms will not be available upon their debut, which is disappointing following the debut of Toxel and its evolution, which came with their shiny forms. While it's likely that their shiny variants will be added in a future event, it is unclear how long this will take.

Will Polteageist be good in Pokemon GO PvP?

Polteageist might not be the best pick for competitive play in Pokémon GO. While its offenses and defenses are somewhat balanced in the main series, this is not the case in Pokemon GO, where the creature is built like a glass cannon.

However, Polteageist's moveset is quite powerful, featuring Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, and Psychic for charged attacks. It also has access to Hex and Astonish for Ghost-type charged attacks, with Sucker Punch for additional coverage.

Although this might not make Polteageist a top contender in the Great or Ultra League, Sinistea could have some potential.

Sinistea's stat spread is the exact opposite of Polteageist's, offering substantial defense but minimal attack. This is a much better stat distribution for the game's real-time battle system. This, paired with Sinistea's excellent movepool, could make the creature one of the most used in the next rotation of Little Cup.
