Pokemon GO Shroomish Spotlight Hour returns to the game on October 15, 2024, and is scheduled between 6 and 7 pm local time on the day. This is the third Spotlight Hour of the month, following Pidove on October 1, Galarian Slowpoke on October 8, and it will be followed by a bunch of Ghost-types on October 23 along with a surprise 'mon on October 29.

Out of all these, the October 15 Pokemon GO Shroomish Spotlight Hour is a special one. This is because the event is a fantastic opportunity for players to farm Stardust—and no, this is not simply because of the 2x Catch Stardust bonus.

Shroomish is one of the many creatures in Pokemon GO that give additional Stardust when captured. Couple the event bonus with the default Stardust reward for catching this Mushroom Pokemon, and the October 15 Pokemon GO Shroomish Spotlight Hour is a must-play.

The base Stardust reward for catching Shroomish is 500. When you put together the 2x bonus for the event, you get 1,000 Stardust for capturing a single creature. To increase this amount further, you should break open a Star Piece. This item increases the amount of Stardust you receive from a single catch by 1.5x, bringing the amount to 1,500.

The second part of the strategy to maximize Stardust gains during the Pokemon GO Shroomish Spotlight Hour on October 15 is to play in an area with clear weather. Being a Grass-type critter, Shroomish's catch Stardust is boosted 1.25 times when the weather is clear, giving you 625 Stardust for every catch.

If you are lucky enough to play out the entirety of the event in clear weather and have a couple of Star Pieces at your disposal, you can get up to 1,876 Stardust for every Shroomish you capture.

Do note that a Starpiece only lasts for 30 minutes, but you can double its duration by using Origin Forme Dialga's Roar of Time Adventure Effect.
