Easily recognizable from the large amount of fanart, Wooloo became a popular Pokemon shortly after its appearance in the Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer due to its cute, fluffy and round design. Wooloo is a normal-type Pokemon, and evolves into the Pokemon Dubwool from level 24 onwards. Furthermore, Wooloo ends up playing a somewhat major role within the plot of Pokemon Sword and Shield in two ways. The first is that the disappearance of a Wooloo triggers the introduction of the game's legendary Pokemon and the second is the fact that your rival, Hop, uses a Wooloo/Dubwool throughout the game.

Appearance
Wooloo is a sheep-like Pokemon with a thick coat of white wool that resembles a cotton ball.It has a small, black head and two short horns which poke out from the front of the wool. On the small, black head it has two large ears which are visible behind gray strings of wool that resemble a pair of braided pigtails. Wooloo’s eyes have black irises, yellow sclera and white, horizontal pupils. Wooloo’s hooved legs are short and mostly hidden by the wool and it does have a tail, but it’s barely visible on its rear end.
Behavior
Wooloo has a fluffy body which can serve as a cushion and even helps it survive even when falling from high heights, such as cliffs, and stand up without injuries. When its wool gets too long, it can prevent Wooloo from moving and this is especially difficult since its wool grows back quickly, within three months, even when completely shaved. Wooloo’s wool is very popular in the Galar region and is used for specialty items, alongside clothing, carpets, and very strong cloth. They live in herds mimicking the leader or trainer with Yampers being used to herd these Wooloo. Woolo dislikes conflict and they can escape from enemies by simply rolling away.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Wooloo has well balanced stats with a generally high defense, yet it provides no major type advantages nor does it have especially strong abilities, which makes it pretty unremarkable in combat. As a normal-type Pokemon, Wooloo is weak to fighting-types and immune to ghost-types.
Shiny Wooloo
Shiny Wooloo is a color reversed version of Wooloo and it has a black wool coat and a white face. Other than aesthetically, it is no different as compared to a normal Wooloo. The main way to get a Shiny Wooloo is to continuously breed either Wooloos or Dubwools until a Shiny Wooloo hatches.
Best moveset
Due to Wooloo and Dubwool’s relatively high defense, they can act as a physical blanket check to protect key offensive Pokemon. For this purpose, the move Cotton Guard can be used to repeatedly raise Wooloo’s defense. Body Press is a move that inflicts damage but it uses the user's defense stat instead of its attack stat to calculate damage. This allows Wooloo, in this case, to use its defense offensively. Rest allows Wooloo to heal its HP stat but it does make Wooloo fall asleep.
However, when used in tandem with the move Sleep Talk, Rest becomes another defensive move than turns offensive. That is as Sleep talk is a move that randomly chooses one of the user's moves, other than Sleep Talk itself, and uses it while the Pokemon is asleep.
