Appearance

Yanmega is based on a green darner, a species of dragonfly that is primarily a dark shade of green. Its body is shaped like a dragonfly with red eyes and black markings on the inside. On its back are a total of four spikes, three next to each other and one at the tip of its rear. It has four dots on its back where there are no spikes. These dots are also found on the sides, making it a total of eight. This Pokemon has a total of six wings, four in the front and two in the rear with a total of six legs as well.

Behavior

This Pokemon has many strong suits and is favored by evolution. To begin with, it has incredibly strong wings which can vibrate at such strong frequencies that it can accidentally dislodge trees when taking flight. In addition, it also has very strong legs which can easily pick up an adult and fly away. This again proves the strength of not only its legs, but also its wings.

To maintain balance while fighting, it has wings on its back which makes the task even easier. To top it off, this Pokemon is also blessed with incredibly strong jaws. This Pokemon takes out others by approaching quickly and biting its head off. The strong jaw also helps this Pokemon settle scores without a dispute. It flies by at incredible speed while ripping off the foe’s head. All of this paired together, Yanmega is an absolute unit.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Yanmega is a Bug/Flying type and is weak to Flying, Fire, Electric and Ice type moves while resistant to Bug type moves. While it is extremely vulnerable to Rock type moves, it is incredibly resistant to Fighting and Grass type moves. In addition, it is also immune to Ground type moves.

Best moveset

While it does not have the best typing, thanks to its ability, Tinted Lens, Yanmega can be an extremely strong choice specs user in RU. With an incredible amount of Special attack, this Pokemon can do unexpectedly well. Bug Buzz and Air Slash must be prioritized as these types receive STAB from Yanmega. However, this Pokemon is easily countered by Rock types due to its 4x weakness. This issue can be solved easily with Giga Drain, which not only heals you but also deals 2x damage to most Rock types. Finally, Psychic is just for coverage as it is a pretty strong move on its own.

Yanmega is the evolved form of Yanma.

What region is Yanmega from?

Conclusion

Yanmega are underrated, surprisingly strong Pokemon which could be extremely strong if used under the right situation. While the lore suggests that Yanmega are strong attackers, it is actually an incredibly strong special attacker, with a special attack value of 116. It’s main weakness, however, is its typing. While it strongly resists two types and is even invulnerable to ground, it still is weak to a lot of Pokemon that are in the meta. Because of this, it can be a hassle to stay alive with this Pokemon due to its low defense stats.
