Fans were understandably devastated when they thought that she was gone for good, but in Fast Five, it was revealed that she was still alive.

Michelle Rodriguez reprises the role in Fast X, which released on May 19, 2023. In a teaser video, her character is seen in a close-range fight with Cipher, one of the popular villains from the franchise. Since the two have a lot of history, fans will be looking forward to seeing what really ensues between the two.

This may have been her first feature film, but Rodriguez gives a stellar performance. Her acting was realistic, the way she showcased her character working hard to rise above her circumstances and struggling to earn respect as a woman in a male-dominated sport was all very believable. She won the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance for her performance.


2) Resident Evil (2002)

Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the film stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius, James Purefoy, Martin Crewes, and Colin Salmon. The story follows a team of Umbrella Corporation commandos who break into an underground laboratory where a deadly virus has killed the personnel and resurrected them as the un-dead. They need to shut down the lab's supercomputer and close the facility before the virus can destroy Earth.

Michelle Rodriguez plays the role of Rain Ocampo, who becomes close to Alice (Jovovich) as they fight the un-dead together. However, during one of the incidents, she gets infected, and even though Alice administers the anti-virus, it's too late. She is killed when she revives as a zombie. In Resident Evil: Retribution, fans are introduced to clones of Rain created by the Umbrella Corporation.


3) Avatar (2009)

Directed by James Cameron, the film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver. It is set in a time when humans are colonizing Pandora to mine a valuable mineral, but the expansion of the mining colony threatens the existence of a local tribe of Na'vi.

Rodriguez plays the role of Trudy Chacón, a combat pilot assigned to support the Avatar Program. However, she is sympathetic to the Na'vi and decides to go against direct orders. Her character showcases the moral struggles of those in uniform who sometimes find themselves in the middle of a war that they didn't sign up for.


4) Machete (2010)

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis, this is an exploitation movie that stars Danny Trejo in the lead role alongside Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, and Lindsay Lohan. It focuses on Machete, a vigilante who is forced to go on the run after being double-crossed. However, he soon sets out on a quest to settle the score.

Rodriguez plays the role of Luz or otherwise known as Shé, a taco truck lady who knows her way around guns. In terms of plot, there isn't a whole lot in this movie, but that's how it was meant it be. Although it is messy and violent, the film is still an enjoyable movie.


5) Widows (2018)

Directed by Steve McQueen, it stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Debicki in the lead roles. It is based on a British TV show of the same name that first aired in 1983. The story is about four women whose husbands stole $2 million from a crime boss. After their husbands are killed, the four of them make a plan to steal money from a local politician in order to pay back the crime boss.
