The Nun 2 also known as The Nun: Chapter II is an American gothic supernatural horror film directed by Michael Chaves. The film was recently released on September 8, 2023, and went on to receive mixed reviews from critics and audiences. However, most of the reviews are positive and are lauding the makers for making the film better than its predecessor. The Nun 2’s screenplay was written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and Akela Cooper and is the eighth installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise.

The Nun 2 was released in September 2023. Currently, it is running in theaters and there is no official news on when the horror movie will hit the streaming platforms. However, as per reports, The Michael Chaves directorial is all set to stream on HBO Max from October 25, 2023. People with an HBO Max subscription can enjoy streaming the movie once it arrives on OTT.

Will there be a The Nun 3?

Although there is no official confirmation on whether The Nun 3 is happening or not, director Michael Chaves gave some exciting insights about the same and it looks like the makers of the horror franchise are far from saying goodbye to demon Valak. During an interview, Michael Chaves claimed that The Nun 3 may be a narrative bridge between The Conjuring and The Nun 2.

Chaves said, "I wouldn’t want to give anything away, but this is continuing the timeline. Anyone who saw the first Conjuring knows that Maurice is possessed and then exorcized by the Warrens, and we know that that happens in the late '60s in the Conjuring timeline. This is set in the '50s so we’re still a ways off from that.”

He also added, “The events of what happens in between this starts to fill out that story a little bit more. There's other big ideas and big swings in there, and it’s filled with a bunch of cool Easter eggs. Without giving anything away, it continues to fill out the picture and the bigger canvas.”
