While getting back on stage was a joyous moment for BTS and ARMYs alike, BTS' Jungkook took to Instagram to express how disheartened he felt at not being able to hear ARMY's cheer.
BTS recently held its first PERMISSION TO DANCE concert in Seoul, South Korea.
In light of COVID 19, in the concert, fans were not prohibited from cheering in the concert. They could show their support and cheer for the the band by using a clapper. After the concert, BTS' Jungkook posted a 9-10 minute long Instagram video.
According to BTS Jungkook, recording the video was a spontaneous decision, and he wanted to let the fans know how he felt.
He later mentioned how unusual it was for him not to hear fans cheer.
What did BTS' Jungkook talk about in his video?
BTS' Jungkook started the video by informing viewers that he suddenly felt like recording the video and that he was back home after the concert. He expressed that although it's been two years since he was back in South Korea, to him, it felt like he was back after 23 years. He was pleased to host a concert at his home ground.
He reminisced about how whenever BTS performed in South Korea, they would hear the crowd cheer and sing along. He then expressed that in their recent concert, he could not hear the crowd cheering and singing along, which was difficult for him.
He assured fans that he would not let this compromise his performance. Jungkook further justified his point by indicating that they are used to performing online without a crowd.
He explained how the cheering provided instant feedback that his performance pleased them. It gave him insight into what ARMY's appreciated the most on stage.
He extended sympathy and empathy to ARMY's. Jungkook understood that they wanted to cheer but could not do anything. He mentioned that the entire experience was surreal for him.
He expressed that he was glad the concert went well and no one was injured. Jungkook hoped that everyone who attended had fun as well. He pointed out how with the masks covering facial expressions and lack of cheers, he could not judge if everyone had fun, but he hoped they did.
At the end of the video, he advised fans to check the weather and dress comfortably for the upcoming concerts.
