Who is Chris Brown?
Christopher Maurice Brown, an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor, was born on May 5, 1989. Brown is one of the most popular R&B singers of his generation, according to Billboard, and is frequently referred to as the "King of R&B" by many of his contemporaries.
Brown’s music has been characterized as polyhedric, with several influences from other genres, primarily hip hop and pop music, which can be heard in his R&B. Themes of sex, romance, fast living, desire, regret, and emotional conflict predominate in his lyrics. Due to his charisma on stage, Brown has developed a cult following and has been widely compared to Michael Jackson.
Brown is one of the best-selling musicians in the world, with over 197 million records sold globally. He is also among the all-time top-earning African American touring performers. In terms of male singers, Brown has the most Billboard Hot 100 entries and Top 40 hits of any R&B artist in history.
On Billboard's list of the top R&B/hip-hop artists of the 2010s, Drake and Rihanna placed first and second, respectively, with Brown coming in third. Brown has received numerous honors throughout his career, including a Grammy Award, 18 BET Awards, 4 Billboard Music Awards, and 14 Soul Train Music Awards.
Brown has also worked toward a career in acting. He made his feature film acting debut in “Stomp the Yard” in 2007 and made a guest appearance on “The O.C.” “This Christmas” (2007), “Takers” (2010), “Think Like a Man” (2012), “Battle of the Year” (2013), and “She Ball” (2020) are some of the other movies Brown has acted in.
