Dakota Mayi Johnson is a famous American actress and producer. Dakota was born in Texas on October 4, 1989. She started acting when she was just ten years old in a movie called Crazy in Alabama, where she acted alongside her mom.

After she finished high school, she moved to Los Angeles to audition for more acting roles. She got her first big chance in The Social Network movie in 2010.

But her really big break happened when she played Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades movie series from 2015 to 2018. This role even got her nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016.

Most of her childhood happened in Los Angeles. She finished school early, when she was just 16, from the Hollywood Professional School. She started acting in the 1970s and was in some exciting independent movies before getting really famous in the mid-1980s.

In 1975, when she was 17, she acted with Gene Hackman in a movie called "Night Moves." She did really well in a thrilling movie called "Body Double" by Brian De Palma and won an award for it.
