No, the South Korean boy band BTS has not disbanded. However, they reportedly are on a hiatus.
The announcement of the K-pop band BTS taking a break so that the members could focus on their own projects left their entire fandom in shock. Right after the surprise announcement, reports and rumors went rife that BTS was breaking up due to internal conflicts. However, other reports claimed that the boys wanted to focus on their own careers, hence they decided to take an indefinite hiatus. All the reports making headlines were leaving their fans quite upset.
Finally, after days, the tense air was cleared, the band was not breaking up but they were just taking a break to focus on their solo careers and also focus on the mandatory military enlistment that was awaiting the boys. In the following days, HYBE, the company behind the boy septet denied that the band was taking a hiatus. According to US Weekly, the official statements on behalf of that group read, “To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various formats."
What is BTS?
BTS stands for the Korean phrase Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to "Bulletproof Boy Scouts". The boy band was formed in 2010 and consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The band debuted in 2014 under Big Hit Entertainment with the single album 2 Cool 4 Skool and by 2017 they became a huge sensation worldwide.

Will BTS embark on Mandatory Military service?
On October 17, it was announced that the group will complete their mandatory military service and will return together as a group around 2025 after all of them complete their service. Their managing company released a statement which read, “Since the creation of BTS over ten years ago, the band has risen to international success, broken records, and catapulted K-Pop into the global stratosphere,” Big Hit’s statement reads. “BIGHIT MUSIC has focused on the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that’s now.”
Kim Seok-jin, aka Jin who is the oldest member of the group, is the first member to be enlisted in the army for his mandatory military service.
