American comedian Nick Cannon sparked controversy online after he revealed why had so many kids with multiple women. In a Los Angeles Times interview published on May 7, the 42-year-old personality shared that he has been "villainized" for fathering 12 kids with different women.

He said:

“I hear all the time: ‘You can’t be present for all those children.’ So therefore I get this deadbeat dad title.”

Further in the interview, Nick Cannon revealed that one of the reasons he fathered so many kids was due to his pleasing personality and his partners' concerns. He said of his partners that they expressed anxiety about their biological clocks ticking during the coronavirus pandemic.

He continued:

“A lot of them are in the same age group. I just wanted to give them what they desired. I kept saying, ‘I can handle it.'”

However, Cannon's comments were not well received by many as he was slammed for this type of thinking and his actions. The Neighborhood Talk took to Instagram to share the news about Cannon's new interview and netizens headed to the comments section to express their views on the same.

Moreover, during the same Los Angeles Times interview, he revealed that he makes $100 million a year while addressing a report from last year that stated that the comedian pays $3 million annually in child support.

He said:

“That’s not a lot of money. When you think about my lifestyle, I have to generate at least $100 million a year. Everybody thinks Ryan Seacrest has tons of money. I do everything that he does times 10. Well, not times 10 — times three. Because he does a lot.”

Cannon told the publication that he earns over $20 million from The Masked Singer and additional income from The Daily Cannon, two sports bars, and his N'Credible record label, along with his numerous television and film appearances.

However, Cannon stated that being available is the most essential thing about parenting, as he mentioned:

"It’s not about what I do for you or what I say to you, it’s about how you feel when I’m with you. If you feel loved when you see your dad, that’s what’s gonna resonate.”

Though Nick Cannon is presently juggling many projects, like The Masked Singer, Wild 'n Out, The Daily Cannon, and more, he's now filling in as a guest presenter on FOX's Beat Shazam as his close friend Jamie Foxx recovers after a medical emergency.
