Yes, during a pivotal battle with the Spanish army in Season 5, Episode 5 of the Money Heist, Tokyo/Tokio dies.

At the Bank of Spain, the group made the decision to disband. Then Denver, Manila, and Tokyo were left to fend for themselves. Tokyo made the decision to pull off a nearly impossible stunt in an effort to keep the military at bay. Sadly, things didn't exactly go as expected. She received five gunshot wounds to her arms and legs. The dumbwaiter was the trio's only escape because they were now trapped.

With five bullets in your body, it is obviously challenging to descend a dumbwaiter. Denver and Manila both succeeded in getting down. The military closed in on her as they were getting ready to maneuver a way for Tokyo to get down.

Tokyo bid Rio and the Professor farewell before embarking on a suicide mission to kill as many foes as she could as she realised that her time was running out. Tokyo pulled out a grenade in her final act to protect her allies, dying alongside her foes.

Who is Tokyo in the Money Heist?

Ursula Corberó portrays the fictitious character Tokyo (Silene Oliveira) in the Netflix series Money Heist. She is the unreliable narrator and a runaway thief who is recruited by the Professor to take part in his heists, making her the de facto protagonist of the series.

A failed robbery in which Tokyo's boyfriend was killed sent her on the run from the police. Before she became involved in the heist, her mother attempted to turn her over to the police, but she later passed away from a cardiac arrest, possibly brought on by stress.

She was employed by the Professor to assist in robbing the Madrid Royal Mint (Royal Bank of Spain). She is transported to a remote villa with the other seven robbers who were selected for the heist, where they spend five months planning the heist.

In order to conceal their identities during the robbery, the Professor asks each of the thieves to choose a city name, and she selects Tokyo. Tokyo is a flirtatious and rebellious character who has an on-again, off-again romance with Rio throughout the first heist. She and Nairobi get along well, and the two have shared many drinks together. She detested Berlin and disapproved of being told what to do in the first season.

Who Portrays Tokyo in the Money Heist?

The Spanish actress Ursula Corberó Delgado was born on August 11, 1989. Her roles as Ruth Gómez in the teen drama “Physics or Chemistry” (2008–2010), Margarita de Austria in the historical drama “Isabel” (2014), and Marta in the comedy “Girl's Night Out” (2015) helped her gain recognition in Spain. Her portrayal of Tokyo in the crime drama series “Money Heist” (2017–2021) earned her international acclaim, and she made her Hollywood debut in the superhero movie “Snake Eyes” (2021).

After completing her studies, Corberó moved to Madrid to work on the television show “Fisica o Quimica" (Physics or Chemistry). In the 2002 season of “Mirall Trencat,” she made her television debut as Maria. She took on a number of different roles in the years that followed.

In the 2017 television season of the heist drama “La Casa de Papel” (Money Heist), Corberó was cast in the lead role. She portrays Tokyo, the story's narrator, and a runaway thief who was recruited by the Professor to take part in his scheme. The series, which was created by Vis a Vis author Alex Pina, is distinguished by its dark humor, anti-capitalist message, and focus on women.

What is the plot of Money Heist?

Set in Madrid, a shadowy figure known only as the "Professor" enlists a team of eight individuals—all of whom have chosen cities as their aliases—to carry out a daring scheme that involves breaking into the Royal Mint (Bank) of Spain and making off with €984 million. The team intends to remain inside the Mint for 11 days to print the money while fending off elite police forces after taking 67 hostages there.

Following the initial heist, the group's members are compelled to come out of hiding and get ready for a second heist with a few more people, hoping to make off with gold from the Bank of Spain while dealing with hostages and police forces once more.
