Don't Forget the Lyrics! season 2 release date, air time and plot on Fox

Don't Forget the Lyrics! Is set to return with another season soon. The musical competition will return to test the contestants’ knowledge on music in the sing-along game. In each episode, contestants will sing along to the band with the lyrics displayed on the screens until they’re not and it’s up to them to finish the song.

Deadline reads about the upcoming season:

"Niecy Nash hosts the new season of Don’t Forget the Lyrics! (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) beginning on Tuesday, May 23. The game show challenges contestants’ musical memory, as they get one song closer to winning $1 million."

All about Don't Forget the Lyrics! season 2 ahead of its season premiere on Fox

During season 2 of the Fox sing-along competition, the contestants will have the opportunity to win up to $1 million and all they have to do is sing along perfectly.

The contestants will have the opportunity to choose songs from different genres, decades, and artists after which they’ll get on stage to sing their hearts out with the studio band. When they start their individual performances, the words of the songs will be displayed on the screens for a while, after which the music and the words will disappear and it will be up to the contestants themselves to complete the song in Don't Forget the Lyrics! season 2.

Fox’s press release reads about the show:

"Then they'll take center stage to sing alongside the live in-studio band as the lyrics are projected on screen - but when the music stops and the words disappear, will the contestants belt out the correct missing lyrics, or freeze under pressure?"

To be able to compete for the grand prize, they’ll have to sing nine songs accurately, after which, they’ll be challenged with a “No. 1 hit” as they attempt to sing the final song to win the 1 million.

Set to return as the host of Don't Forget the Lyrics! season 2 is Niecy Nash, an actress, author, producer, and director.

In a promo of the upcoming season, Nash s seen interacting with the contestants and providing further insight as to what to expect from the Fox show. In the clip, she said:

"Don’t Forget the Lyrics! is like a pressure cooker."

She added that it is a music game show which is intense and “nail-biting”, and emphasized on how difficult the game is by wondering if the people at home really know the missing lyrics of the songs presented in the show.

She continued that the audience doesn’t know what it feels like to be on the show until they’re on the stage and the lights come on with everyone around cheering.
