Elite season 7 dropped on Netflix on Friday, October 20, 2023, and the next season is already announced. As expected, the season finale is set to provide scope for the story to move forward into season 8. As such, many events occurring in the final episode of Elite season 7 leave cliffhangers for the next plot line.

The show, which premiered on Netflix in October 2018, was quickly renewed for a second season due to its positive review. Being dubbed a “guilty pleasure” by fans, the show was critically acclaimed for its handling of mature themes and acting. The show has already released seven seasons in five years and is renewed for its eighth and final season.

Elite season 7 did not employ the flash-forward structure that was the show’s trademark. However, there was suspense and drama to keep viewers engaged. With the mysterious death of Raûl, Iván’s decision to leave for an exchange program, and chaos on the Isadora-Didác front, a lot is going on in the last episode of the show.

Elite season 7 finale starts with a mysterious death to be revealed later in the episode

As episode 8 of Elite season 7 reopens, there is information about a death which, in all probability, can be a suicide. However, there is no immediate revelation about it, though later viewers come to know that Carmen is responsible for Raûl’s death.

While the story focuses on other characters, it keeps the undercurrent of mystery-solving by showcasing all the situations that might lead to death. On the one hand, there is the troubled Eric, and on the other are Isadora and Didác. Raûl, Chloe, and Sara’s complication is also brewing in the episode.

The plot turns towards Sara and Carmen, Chloe’s mother. Sara informed Carmen that Raûl was abusive and could be bad for Chloe. Meanwhile, Chloe, who had witnessed Raûl and Sara’s intimacy, confronted him with drastic results.

Carmen, who had arrived at the apartment at the time, witnessed Raûl abusing Chloe and tried to intervene. Raûl, in turn, tried to choke Carmen on the edge of his balcony. Carmen escaped his clutches and pushed Raûl off the balcony to his death. Both Chloe and Carmen turned each other’s alibi and claimed that Raûl had jumped to his death.

However, the end of the episode revealed that Joel and Omar’s flatmate Dalmar had shot the incident on his camera. He has evidence against Carmen’s crime to prove that Raûl’s death was a murder and not a suicide. However, it is not yet known whether Dalmar will spill the truth or not in the next season.

The most likely candidate for the mysterious suicide could have been Eric, given the harsh way his family treated him over his drug abuse. He even considered the option and thought about jumping from a building.

However, he tried calling the students’ help app, and it worked. When Sonia picked up his call and learned that he was on the verge of attempting suicide, she informed Nico about the upcoming danger. Nico and his parents rushed to the spot and stopped Eric from killing himself. Eric realized how much they loved him and would support him.

On the other hand, Isadora found out that Didác was working for the police. The police approached Isadora and informed her that both her and Didác’s families had been working with Rocìo’s mother, Catalina. Isadora’s father, Martin, tried to have Catalina killed, but Isa got him to confess to his plan on wire and had police avoid the death.

What happened with Iván and Joel at the end of Elite season 7?

While Iván didn’t know that Sara was responsible for his accident till the end of Elite season 7, he decided to go to South Africa for the exchange program.

Iván wanted Joel to join him and move on to a romantic relationship. However, Joel refused, as he had decided to stand up for himself and not let his relationships define him. Furthermore, Joel broke up with Omar as well while Omar went back to therapy.

In season 8 of the show, Omar’s sister Nadia is set to return, which may change Omar’s condition. While Iván may find out who ran over him, the show may revive the romantic bond of Joel and Iván. On the other hand, if Dalmar exposes the video footage of Carmen pushing Raûl, things may turn ugly for Carmen and Chloe. However, Eric may have finally found peace with his family.

Creator Carlos Montero has confirmed that the final season will end on a high note. Meanwhile, watch Elite season 7 on Netflix.
