Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to his X account on August 14, 2024, to share a video of him and Donald Trump dancing to the iconic Bee Gees track Stayin’ Alive. This comes after the duo had a conversation on a Spaces livestream on August 12, 2024. One might assume that the video was real, considering the tech billionaire himself uploaded the video online. However, the video is fake. The pair never danced together.

As Musk shared a video of him and the former president enthusiastically grooving to the hit track in crisp suits, he tweeted:

“Haters will say this is AI."

At the time of writing this article, Musk’s tweet had amassed over 130 million views. The Republican presidential candidate also took to his X account to share the video in question. However, he did not add any caption to it.

Many were quick to note that the video was created using artificial intelligence and that the duo never danced together. Another X user also took to the social networking site to share a video of the original dancers.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump did not dance to Stayin’ Alive together

As the video began garnering immense traction online, X user @RyanShead took to the social media platform to share the original video of two men, who have since been identified as Aubrey Fisher and Isaiah Shinn, dancing to the legendary song. The netizen wrote in the tweet:

“I was watching this weird Elon Musk dancing with Donald Trump AI video and thought that was too smooth for a white boy… and I was right! Here is the original. Elon always reappropriating Black folks work for his benefit. How very South African of him.”

In the video that was attached by the X user, one could note that two men performed the exact same steps as Donald Trump and Elon Musk. However, they appeared in different suits. Fisher and Shinn shared the video of them dancing with followers in 2021.

Furthermore, if one closely observes the video of Musk and Trump dancing together, they will notice strange streaks in the clip as they dance.

Hence, it is safe to say that the video is fake and was created by using artificial intelligence. Who created the fake video remains unknown at the time of writing this article.

The video of Trump and Musk showcasing their dancing skills made it online after the former delayed his appearance in the aforementioned livestream by 40 minutes due to a technical glitch on X.

The duo collaborated after Musk announced that he was endorsing the former Potus in July, just days after Trump survived the assassination bid in Pennsylvania.

The livestream interview, where the duo discussed several topics, including immigration, climate change, Kamala Harris, and more, also went viral after several netizens conspired that Trump wore dentures.

Internet users fell under this assumption as Trump appeared to have a lisp in one segment of the interview.

Donald Trump has now returned to X, leaving his Truth Social social media platform behind for the first time in almost a year.
