A recent social media post claimed that a new 10-episode series called The Ice Truck Killer, starring Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things, will be released in July 2025 on Paramount. The series is said to be based on the first villain from the show Dexter, Brian Moser, originally played by Christian Camargo, who is said to narrate the new series.
The post, shared by YODA BBY ABY on September 16, received over 4.2K reactions and 1.5K shares. Fans expressed excitement, particularly about Finn's casting as a young Brian.
"The Ice Truck Killer is a dark, psychological prequel series set in the neon-lit streets of 1991 Miami, tracing the origin of one of Dexter’s most chilling villains. After being released from foster group homes, 22-year-old Brian Moser (played by Finn Wolfhard) struggles to navigate life without family or support," the caption of the post read.
However, a quick look at YODA BBY ABY's bio on the platform can confirm the poster is fake:
"I'm just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news."
No series on Dexter's Ice Truck Killer with Finn Wolfhard as the lead actor is in the works
Brian Moser was introduced on episode 1 of Dexter season 1, titled Born Free. He stole the identity of a man named Rudy Cooper whom he murdered. Brian was later revealed to be the show's protagonist Dexter Morgan's biological brother.
In the show, Moser was a witness to their mother Laura Moser's murder with a chainsaw in the Shipping Yard Massacre. Later on, homicide detective Harry Morgan found the two brothers in a shipping container filled with blood. He took Dexter out and asked his crew to take Moser out as well. In a turn of events, Harry adopted Dexter but Moser was sent psychiatric facility.
Years later, Brian Moser returned as someone on a killing spree. He was dubbed the "ice truck killer" for freezing the dismembered body parts of his victims in refrigerated trucks. Moser attempted to reconnect with his brother Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall but ended up being killed by him in the show.
However, no official announcement of a Dexter spin-off series titled The Ice Truck Killer has been heard. Neither Christian Camargo nor Michael C. Hall hinted at a possible series in the plan.
This is not the first time YODA BBY ABY made a fake poster of a supposed movie or series that has gone viral. Previously in May, the page claimed an Overboard remake starring Matthew McConaughey and the OG cast Goldie Hawn's daughter Kate Hudson was to be released in 2024. Another viral post made a similar claim about Mrs. Doubtfire remake starring Will Smith. Both the posters were false and the claims were debunked.
