An image of an ad on Craigslist began circulating online on August 10 which conservatives claimed was posted by Kamala Harris’ campaign. The ad was a call for actors or regular individuals to participate in an event at the Phoenix Convention Center from 2 pm to 11 pm. It further read:

"Duties include protest activity and holding signs that are Anti-Trump…Minorities welcome and needed! Looking to fill about 500 spots."

The job offered to pay interested candidates $15 per hour.

However, the first noticeable discrepancy in the ad is the location. Harris' Arizona rally on Friday, August 9 was held at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, not at the Phoenix Convention Centre. The ad also did not include a specific day or date, contributing to its falsified nature.

Furthermore, a reverse image search on Google tracked several older posts of the same image with some modifications. The "fake" ad appeared multiple times on social media in different scenarios. One example is from November 2019, when the same image of the Craigslist ad surfaced online, with only the word "Anti-Trump" replaced with "Pro-Trump."

Thus, it can be said the image of the ad has been photoshopped and altered over time to fit the relevant political scenarios. Neither Kamala Harris nor Donald Trump's campaign offered to pay actors $15 per hour to join their rallies with anti-Trump or pro-Trump signs.

Reuters also debunked the viral ad, labeling it "fabricated".

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz led the rally in Glendale, Arizona on Friday

According to reports, Harris' rally in Arizona on Friday saw the largest crowd with 15,000 people joining the event. The Democratic presidential candidate had her running mate Tim Walz by her side. Harris' VP pick seemingly mocked Donald Trump on his known obsession with the size of the crowd at these rallies:

"You might have seen a few people showed up in Philadelphia the other night. And then 10,000+ walked into a field in western Wisconsin. And then on Wednesday, the largest crowd of the campaign showed up in Detroit, Michigan. But Arizona just couldn’t leave it alone, could you?"

Walz erupted in a cheerful laughter as he added:

"You know, it's not as if anybody cares about crowd sizes or anything!"

The day before Trump was asked about his thoughts on the crowd size in his opponent Harris' rallies. He shrugged in response and asked the reporters to give him a break.

Kamala Harris' last three campaigns before Friday continued to draw in large numbers of crowds. As per reports, the headcount in her rallies is more than any of the other Democratic gatherings saw in the 2024 election campaign. Kamala Harris addressed native Americans at the Arizona rally and promised them to "always honor tribal sovereignty and respect tribal self-determination".

Harris' pitch at Friday's event specifically emphasized the issues of abortion and immigration. With the experience of her own as California's former general attorney, Kamala Harris said she had prosecuted "transnational gangs, the drug cartels, and human traffickers" and had won those cases. She admitted:

"We know our immigration system is broken, and we know what it takes to fix it — comprehensive reform that includes strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship."

Elsewhere during her speech, Harris called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
