A social media post has been going viral as an internet user, Vincent Flibustier, shared a picture claiming to be a Crowdstrike employee, the company responsible for the global outage in Windows that affected millions around the globe.

As discussions continued regarding the Microsoft outage that occurred on July 19, 2024, Flibustier's post garnered significant attention as he claimed to be behind the chaos.

On that day, numerous Windows computers displayed the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. Subsequently, Vincent Flibustier posted a picture of himself seemingly in front of the Crowdstrike office, with the caption:

"First day at Crowdstrike, pushed a little update and taking the afternoon off."

The picture quickly garnered thousands of likes and comments, as many believed it to be true. However, it is important to note that Vincent Flibustier is a satirical writer, and the viral picture where he claims to be the man behind the global outage is fake and untrue.

Also, Vincent Flibustier is not a former employee of Crowdstike. As reported by ABC 24, Vincent runs a parody news portal, Nordpresse.

Vincent Flibustier is not the man responsible for the Microsoft global outage: Details explored

After Vincent Flibustier posted the picture that left many convinced, he also shared a video stating how he was fired from his job on the very first day due to the chaos that caused the global outage. Flibustier claimed in the video that he was waiting for his “dismissal letter”:

"It was my very first day on the job as a new system admin, and I was very eager and excited. Let's say I actually made a small update to a line of code, optimized an update slightly a little bit and maybe I shouldn't have. I got fired so I was called in."

The video also started receiving hundreds of likes and comments instantly. Vincent continued:

"They called me back today, telling me that I really need to come back. It really wasn't even to congratulate me. I thought it was as if it was so. Now, I'm just waiting for my termination documentation. They told me that you should never put an update into production without testing, especially not on a Friday, and I said, 'Well, it's not Friday; it was Thursday, and today is Friday."

To further deceive the masses, he updated his bio, stating:

"Former Crowdstrike employee, fired for an unfair reason, only changed 1 line of code to optimize. Looking for a job as Sysadmin."

However, the video is a parody and does not hold any truth to it. It is worth noting that the videos `and pictures posted on Vincent’s page where he claims to be behind the Microsoft outage are fake and untrue.

As per the Independent, a global IT outage occurred on July 19, 2024, affecting more than 8.5 million devices due to a glitch caused by a wrong code sent by Crowdstrike. The issue affected several sectors, including IT, hospitality, and even airlines.
