McDonald’s France joked about pulling curry sauce from their menu following Steph Curry and the USA Basketball Men’s National Team's victory over France in the Olympics. On Saturday, August 10, The United States basketball team clinched Olympic gold in the final with France, which saw the former emerge victorious with a 98-87 scoreline.
Following the defeat, the official Instagram account of McDonald’s France cheekily aimed at Steph Curry in a hilarious Instagram post on Saturday. The food chain posted a picture of the Classic curry sauce and wrote:
"For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce,"
The post's caption read:
"For 4 years minimum."
Social media users appreciated the fast food chain's humor and even suggested various other humorous names for other McDonald’s food items. Other users took further cheeky diggs at McDonald’s French outlet. Here are a few X (formerly known as Twitter) reactions to the Instagram post:

Prior to French McDonald’s' dig at Steph Curry, the NBA star clinched Olympic gold
Saturday's thrilling Olympic basketball final saw Steph Curry and co. clinch Team USA's fifth Summer Olympics basketball gold medal in a row. This is the country's 17th gold medal in 20 all-time appearances.
Although Curry initially had a slow start to the game, he eventually picked up pace to thwart the opposition to defeat. The 36-year-old hit four 3-pointers in the final 2:43, sealing the victory for USA with 1:19 remaining. Curry finished the game with 24 points and five assists.
The 36-year-old scored a whopping 17 3-pointers in his last two Olympic games including the heroic nine against Serbia in the semi-finals of the tournament. In an interview with The New York Times after the finals, Steph Curry opened up about his mindset during the final. The NBA Champion said:
"At that point, your mind goes blank. You don’t really care about the setting or the scenario or anything, it’s just a shot,"
He added:
"Thankfully, that one went in, it settled us down, and after that it’s just rhythm and flow and confidence and that was it."
This was Steph Curry's first Olympic gold medal. Curry's teammate LeBron James procured his third gold medal while Kevin Durant finished the tournament by clinching a record fourth Olympic gold medal.
