1) Oscar nomination voting
The Oscar nomination voting, which was scheduled to end on January 12, 2025, was extended by two days. The nominations announcement, which was set to be revealed on January 17, will now take place on January 19, 2025.
As per Variety, the Academy sent 10,000 members an email announcing the date changes on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, afternoon. CEO Bill Kramer expressed his condolences in the email and mentioned the members and industry colleagues who live in the area.
