Summer House season 7 aired its finale episode on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 9 pm ET on Bravo. It documented the cast members ending their summer on a high with a jungle-themed party and making some fun memories before they got back to their rigorous personal and professional lives. However, the drama soon followed after some tried to resolve impending issues.
In the season finale episode of Summer House, Mya confronted her now ex-boyfriend Oliver about him cheating on multiple women while being in a relationship with her. However, she tried to talk to him off camera and consistently asked him if he was mic'd, indicating that she didn't want to have the conversation on camera for the viewers to hear.
Fans, however, slammed Mya for not sharing the demise of her relationship with Oliver, and wanting to hide it off camera. One Twitter user, @_dbird, tweeted:
The hit Bravo series has packed a lot of drama over the past six seasons, and season 7 came in very hot. The cast navigated friendships, relationships and more throughout the course of the season. Cast members for this season are Mya Allen, Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke, Paige DeSorbo, Lindsay Hubbard, Craig Conover, Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, and Carl Radke.
They were accompanied by newcomers Kory Keefer, Samantha Feher, Gabby Prescod, and Chris Leoni.
Mya breaks up with Oliver on Summer House
Tonight's episode of Summer House saw the cast members making memories of a fun summer. Costumes, drinking and partying were just the start as drama soon followed. Many cast members tried to resolve their impending issues, and while some managed to be successful, others took a turn for the worse.
The official synopsis of the episode, titled Welcome to the Jungle, reads:
"As summer comes to an end, the housemates throw a jungle-themed Labor Day party; Ciara takes her costume game to the next level while Mya confronts Oliver; Danielle and Lindsay have a conversation that changes their friendship forever."
The Summer House castmates were having the time of their lives by the pool after witnessing an intense fight between former best friends Danielle and Lindsay. As Ciara and Paige reflected on the argument, fellow castmate Mya decided to go talk to Oliver about an impending issue.
She then proceeded to go to her then-boyfriend Oliver and asked him to not mingle with other girls at the party. In the previous episode, he'd asked her if they could be exclusive. However, all of it changed in the latest finale episode as Mya kept trying to talk to him off-camera.
As Mya dealt with her dynamic with Oliver, she seemed to be very conscious of a camera filming the entire issue. She wasn't even ready to talk it out with her fellow Summer House cast members as she felt cameras were capturing it. To deal with the issue with anyone's intervention, she took Oliver upstairs.
In the bathroom, she confronted her then-boyfriend about allegedly cheating on her. She started crying while asking him why he cheated on her. Throughout the conversation, she tried to cover their mics so that the audio couldn't be filmed. She eventually asked Oliver to leave while she cried inside.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live (WWHL) with Andy Cohen in February 2023, Mya confirmed her split with Oliver, stating "He wasn’t who I thought he was," and revealed that she had him blocked.
Fans slam Mya for not wanting to share her story on Summer House
Fans took to social media to express their concerns. They felt that it was unfair of Mya to not want to share her breakup and the cheating allegations on camera, considering she was on a reality TV show and was supposed to showcase her raw moments like fellow castmates.
Fans also felt that it was unfair for Mya to question Carl and Lindsay's relationship when she wasn't ready to show her relationship issues herself. Check it out.
Season 7 of Summer House was an extremely intense watch. Over the past two months, the cast was seen spending a fun but very dramatic summer. There is only more to come as they hash out their issues in the reunion. Viewers will have to wait and see what's in store for them.
Don't forget to tune in to the first part of the reunion on Monday, May 20, 2023, at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
