Swedish DJ remixer Avicii was found dead in Muscat, Oman while he was on vacation. Days after his sudden death, his family confirmed that the superstar had committed suicide.

Tim Bergling born on 8th September 1989 and used to go by his stage name Avicii which meant 'lowest level of Buddhist hell'. He began chasing his passion for music at the age of 16 and used to create remixes and upload them to electronic music forums.

This is what helped him bag his first record deal when Avicii signed on with the Dejfitts Plays label. In 2010, he released his song 'Seek Bromance' which turn out to be a huge hit and reached the top 20 in several countries. Later in 2010, Tim signed with the European A&R team with EMI Music Publishing.

Avicii's fame rose in 2011 after he released his single, "Levels" which reached the top 10 in several countries. A year later, his collaboration track 'Sunshine', with David Guetta, was nominated for a Grammy. Later in 2012, Avicii also made history as the first DJ to headline the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

In 2013, Avicii released new tracks from his album 'True', 'Wake Me Up' and other tracks from his new album received quite some critical reviews and topped music charts all over the world. From 2015-2017 Avicii released hit tracks and albums.

His most famous songs are, "Hey Brother", "Wake Me Up," "The Nights”, “The Days”, “Addicted to You”, and “Lonely Together” among many others. In 2016, the DJ took retirement as he battled addiction and physical and mental health problems. Tim developed anxiety at a very young age. His parents used to take him to a therapist at the age of 14.

A while after his death his family members revealed that the DJ had committed suicide. A report by TMZ revealed that Avicii had used glass shards to cut himself.

The official cause of death was declared as blood loss.

His family members released a letter for all his fans regarding his death. The open letter read, "Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be able to be happy and to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could now not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, The Family".
