Mac Miller died from an accidental drug overdose due to a 'mixed drug toxicity' of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

American rapper and record producer, Malcolm James McCormick (who used to go by his stage name Mac Miller)’s untimely death was a huge shocker to the world. The rapper, who is well-known for his albums and singles like 'Watching Movies with the Sound Off', GO:OD AM, The Divine Feminine, Circles, Self Care, Surf, Come Back to Earth, BDE Bonus, Jet Fuel, and many more chartbusters to count, passed away at the young age of 26.

Miller started rapping at the age of 14. He first yearned to be a singer but then he decided to focus on his rap career. At the age of 15, he released his first mixtape 'But My Mackin' Ain't Easy' in 2007 and went by the name Easy Mac. By the age of 17, he established himself as Mac Miller and released two successful mixtapes by the age of 18. He won 21 & Under of the Year, and Best Hip Hop Video for 'Live Free'. As Miller grew, his rapping career took off and in no time he was a well-known artist in the industry who enjoyed a massive fan following. His fans expected much more chartbusters from him but his sudden death changed the whole course.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, Miller died from an accidental drug overdose due to a 'mixed drug toxicity' of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

Three men were arrested in September 2019 during an investigation into Miller's death. The first one was Cameron James Pettit who allegedly sold the rapper oxycodone pills containing fentanyl two days before his death. Miller had allegedly asked Pettit for Percocet, which is a prescribed painkiller containing oxycodone, in addition to cocaine and Xanax. The next man to be arrested was Ryan Reavis. Reavis is the one who ran the oxycodone pills containing fentanyl to Cameron James Pettit. These drugs were supplied by Stephen Walter, who was the third person to be arrested in the Mac Miller death case.

The three men were charged with the conspiracy and distribution of drugs resulting in death. Reavis was sentenced to 10 years in prison while Walter was sentenced to 171/2 years in prison.

American rapper Mac Miller was found unresponsive in his Studio City home by his personal assistant, who immediately called 911. His assistant performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Even after many tried to resuscitate Miller, the paramedics could not help it. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m.
