Gi-hun wins the game by defeating his childhood friend. The mastermind behind the Squid Game is revealed; it is Oh II-nam who created the game.

Netflix's original series, Squid Game, is a South Koren action horror drama. Hwang Dong-hyuk created the show. Squid Game premiered globally on 17 September 2021. It became the most-watched show in 94 countries, attracted around 142 million customer residences, and racked up 1.65 billion streaming hours in its first 4 weeks of release, making it Netflix's most-watched series.

At the end of Squid Game, only Gi-hun and his childhood friend, Sang-woo, were alive. This leaves them to face off in the final game. Gi-hun got a chance to kill Sang-woo, but he could not do it. Instead, he makes the decision to forfeit, putting up the prize so Sang-woo and he can leave the game and go from there.

But Sang-woo, who made it this far by putting his empathy and sense of morality on the line to win, stabs himself in the neck so that Gi-hun can win the game. He asks Gi-hun to look after his mother as he passes away. Gi-hun wins the games against his will. He succeeds in the game, yet he still feels empty.
