Jeff Davis is the creator and producer of the American police procedural crime drama television programme Criminal Minds. The show debuted on CBS on September 22, 2005, and it ran until February 19, 2020, before being resurrected in 2022. It centres on a team of criminal profilers that are employed by the FBI and are a part of the agency's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

Over its 15-year run, Criminal Minds consistently ranked among the network's most watched series, turning into a ratings success for CBS. Due to its popularity, there have been a number of media franchises created, including a video game and a South Korean version.

A fifteenth and final season of 10 episodes, airing from January 8, 2020, to February 19, 2020, was ordered for the programme. After its two spin-off shows, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, has already been cancelled due to low ratings, it was the last instalment in the franchise to come to an end. Criminal Minds: Evolution, the series' sixteenth season, will debut on Paramount+ in a revival.

What is the premise of Criminal Minds?

The show centres on a team of criminal profilers that work for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), where they use behavioural analysis and profiling to help solve crimes and track down the "unsub" (unknown subject).

Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner and subsequently Emily Prentiss are in charge of the team's management. The team featured Jason Gideon, the BAU's creator and the top profiler in the Bureau; Derek Morgan, a former Chicago Police detective and expert on obsessional crimes; Spencer Reid, a geospatial profiling specialist; the team's communications liaison, Jennifer Jareau (JJ), later promoted to profiler; Elle Greenway, an authority on sexual crimes; David Rossi, one of the founding BAU agents and a criminal profiling expert; Ashley Seaver, a rookie FBI agent; Alex Blake, an expert in linguistics; Kate Callahan, an experienced undercover agent; Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist; Luke Alvez, an excellent fugitive tracker who joins the team as a profiler; Stephen Walker, an authority on espionage; and Matt Simmons, an expert profiler.

In essence, this crime series follows a team of F.B.I. profilers who go from Quantico to the scenes of numerous serial murderers' criminal behavior. They look into the evidence found at the crime scenes, create a profile, and work to stop the next deadly attack there.

Is a new season of Criminal Minds on the way?

The BAU has resumed operations and it goes by the name Criminal Minds: Evolution this time. On July 14, Paramount+ said that it had acquired the show for streaming. According to Nicole Clemens, the President of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, "Criminal Minds was at the vanguard of cutting-edge scripted drama for 15 seasons as it thrillingly examined the psychology underlying crime."

"We are beyond pleased to bring the series back into a new age with fresh tales for a new generation of viewers at Paramount+," she continued. "The series never ceased developing over its existence. A season full of fresh surprises is being developed by Erica [Messer] and the entire ensemble, along with the creative team. We are confident that fans will be electrified.

Episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution will only be accessible on Paramount+. Before selecting a subscription, you may use the site for a free one-week trial if you don't already have an account. While the premium plan costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year with no advertisements and downloading capabilities, the essential plan starts at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year with restricted commercials.
