Money Heist strikes our mind swiftly with Red overalls and Dali masks galore. It is a series set in Madrid. A charming and mysterious man named "El Professor" recruits a group of eight weirdly idiosyncratic people to do burglaries at the Royal Spanish Mint. They also pillage the Bank of Spain, take care of the hostages and the police, and other enemies while the professor, the brain, leads the entire robbery.

After the biggest robbery in history ended with Money Heist's fifth and last season, fans offered a bittersweet farewell to their favorite show whose heritage and impact on life beyond ratings and revenues. Not only did the show subvert the typical kind of robbery, but it also gave it a powerful Spanish identity.

Contrary to all hypermasculine burglary movies, this Money Heist has a lot of strong feminine tracks that alter the course of history with their cunning and wit.

Is Money Heist a real story or fiction?

The premise of Money Heist. Involving the Professor and his crew of idiosyncratic bandits who perform the dangerously ambitious 11-day burglary is pure fiction that was created by Alex Pina, the creator and the showrunner.

However, the series derives some elements from the real world. First, the show catapulted the remix bop version of the folkloric song of the Italian Resistance "Bella Ciao" to glory after having used it for some of its most crucial scenes. Thieves are also seen wearing Salvador Dalí's iconic masks which are considered to be an emblem transcending social conventions because the painter himself rejected social norms through his surreal works at the beginning of the twentieth century.

The red jumpsuits in which the thieves are dressed are also a direct reference to socialism and the general idea that wealth should be distributed fairly among the masses.

Is there any spin-off of Money Heist?

Yes, Netflix is moving ahead with the plan to have a spin-off of the Spanish series Money Heist, which is called Berlin. The Spanish series Money Heist aka La casa de Papel concluded its journey in December 2021.

There is no family link between the El Professor and Berlin and is not even mentioned in the original screenplay. But he was integrated into the story of the characters at the end of the first part after Morte and Alonso proposed several times to do so. The fans, discouraged by the death of the Berliner character, were waiting for his return to history. It will be interesting to see how creators approach the tragedy because of the fact that Berlin has died.
