OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has been recently sued by his sister Annie on charges of s*xual abuse on January 6, 2025. According to Business Insider, Annie is seeking $75,000 in damages alongside attorney fees in the latest lawsuit filed against Sam.
Sam has two brothers, Jack and Max, according to Daily Entertainment News.
Annie claimed in the legal documents that Sam Altman allegedly used to assault her during her childhood. The incidents happened back during the '90s and 2000s and as a result of the same, Annie had to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder alongside physical injuries.
The lawsuit mentioned that Annie could not enjoy a normal life because of the alleged abuse and that Sam reportedly made Annie believe that the s*xual acts were happening with her consent.
Sam Altman's siblings have established themselves in different fields over the years
The Chicago, Illinois native was only 19 years old when he formed a company called Loopt. According to El Pais, he sold the company for $43 million and continued being associated with other companies like Y Combinator until he established OpenAI in 2015.
According to Daily Entertainment News, Altman's father Jerry Altman passed away in 2018 and was a well-known real estate broker. On the other hand, Sam's mother Dr. Connie Gibstine was active as a dermatologist.
Sam's brother Jack is known as the founder of a human resources software company called Lattice. However, he exited from the position of CEO last year and is currently working as a managing partner for Alt Capital.
He completed his education at Princeton University and has been employed in other companies such as Teespring, Hydrazine Capital, and Gleacher & Company, as per his LinkedIn profile.
Sam Altman's second brother Max went to Duke University and started his career as an intern at Baseline Ventures in 2009. His LinkedIn account says that he has worked at Microsoft in the past and has been a partner for Apollo Projects and Alt Capital. He has been serving as the co-founder and managing partner of a venture fund called Saga since March last year.

Sam Altman's family responds to his sister's allegations
As mentioned, Sam's sister Annie has accused him of s*xual abuse in a lawsuit. Meanwhile, Altman has replied to the allegations in a joint statement shared by his mother and brothers alongside him and posted the same through his official page on X on January 8, 2025.
The statement reads that Sam Altman's family is concerned for Annie's well-being, adding that they have always advised her on "how to be supportive without enabling harmful behaviors." The family also mentioned:
"To give a sense of our efforts, we have given her monthly financial support, directly paid her bills, covered her rent, helped her find employment opportunities, attempted to get her medical help, and have offered to buy her a house through a trust (so that she would have a secure place to live, but not be able to sell it immediately)."
Sam Altman's family claimed in the statement that despite getting financial support every month, Annie has been asking for more money from them and has made false accusations against Sam.
The family stated that although they opted to remain silent at first, the legal action taken by Annie forced them to respond.
"Over the years, she has accused members of our family of improperly withholding our father's 401k funds, hacking her wifi, and "shadowbanning" her from various websites including ChatGPT, Twitter, and more."
The family wrote in the end that the claims being made about Sam in the lawsuit were not true, adding that it feels bad to see that Annie has refused to take "conventional treatment" and is taking out her frustration on the family members who are willing to help. They said that they would continue supporting Annie and expect her to find "stability and peace."
