Six albums after the release of her second solo album, Both Worlds *69 (2001), she parted ways with the group and its record label due to financial issues and concerns with the album's promotion.

She subsequently issued a number of solo albums and rose to fame as a result of her associations with musicians like Eminem, Run the Jewels, La Chat, Latto, GloRilla, and Yelawolf. Gangsta Boo, who was discovered by DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia, appeared on the group's 1995 debut album, Mystic Stylez, and worked with them on five additional albums.

Later, she joined the Three 6 Mafia offshoot group Da Mafia 6ix in 2013 and made a significant appearance on their self-titled mixtape. 2014 saw her leave the group.

Gangsta Boo, who was born and raised in the South, quickly made a name for herself in the 1990s with her witty lyrics, which could be flirtatious and playful or forceful and proud. She joined the underground rap crew Three 6 Mafia when she was a teenager, and the group would go on to become one of the most significant of its time.

The cause of death wasn't made known right away. According to sources close to Mitchell, she partied the night before with her brother, who allegedly overdosed after consuming cocaine that was (unbeknownst to him) laced with fentanyl. "The Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Gangsta Boo," Mother Veronica Mitchell and the rapper's family released a statement on Monday. "The family is asking for your continued prayers and privacy as we process the loss of our loved one."

Gangsta Boo announced last month that her fourth studio album, "The BooPrint," would be released this year. She and the producer Drumma Boy collaborated on the unreleased video "Imma Mack" last week."Gangsta Boo was like a sister to me and told the world about me the way my blood brother did," declared Drumma Boy in a statement.
