Ye first began his career by producing stuff. At the time of working on his debut album and before releasing it, Ye suffered a car accident that left him with a shattered jaw. During his recovery period, Ye took the opportunity to make major changes in his album before its official release. He changed the release date thrice and eventually released it in February 2004. His album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and his debut single, "Through the Wire" peaked at No. 15 while on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks.

Since then, Ye has made a big name in the industry through his chartbuster albums and songs. As the years passed, Ye also began venturing into fashion and other business fields. Ye and Kardashian were longtime best friends before they began dating in 2012. Things got pretty serious quickly between them and they got engaged a year later in 2013. The following year they married at Fort di Belvedere in Florence in May 2014.

Kardashian and Ye have four children: North West, Saint West, Chicago West and Psalm West. Chicago and Psalm were born via surrogacy. In January 2021, the US concluded that Kardashian was "done" with her six year long marriage to West. Sources claimed that the two were living separately. In April 2021, they both agreed and filed for a divorce due to "irreconcilable differences". Their divorce was finalized on November 29, 2022. Before their divorce was finalized, the two turned heads by taking jabs at each other in the media.

During the ongoing process of their divorce, Kardashian began dating Pete Davidson (the two have now split) and West constantly made sure he was tainting Kardashian and Davidson's love life by taking ugly jibes at them through social media.
